3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn. Dark brown with a big-bubbled creamy head. Good retention and lacing. Nose... sweet dark dried fruits, roasted malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, vinegar and spiciness, rather like cinnamon. Taste is dark dried fruits like dates, roasty and moderately caramelly sweet, also a bitterness joining in the finish, combining with dry roastiness and a chocolaty sweetness. Smooth on the palate with very thin carbonation, body on the minus side of mediumish. A strange hybrid of a brew - I was disappointed at first but later on it grew on me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
the aroma is caramel and fruity with hints of chocolate and vanilla... the taste is caramel with notes of chocolate, cherry, toffee and some spices... sweet and dry aftertaste... it’s rather funny to see Belgian imperial stout, that looks like dubbel or quadrupel...

A sweet maltyness contrasted by a sharp bitterness. Aroma is slight, nothing special but not a bad stout.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Finale infinito con note tendenti leggermente all’amaro.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nose is underwhelming, sweet, Belgian yeast, slight lactose, lots of almond / marzipan, cola. Taste lacks depth, brown sugar, vanilla, cola, slight lactose and almond in the lightly spiced finish, The beer lacks depth. Mouthfeel is thin
The beer seems more like a spiced West Indian stout than an Imperial, and it’s not great.

Nice, well balanced, easy drinkable, no aparent flaws. But somehow it does not do it for me. Color is dark brown with a small off white head. Carbonation is low but enough. Flavor is malt sweetness, spices, some coffee, dades and a soapy element. Nice bitter hops in the sticky long aftertaste.
