Bottle at Rootz at the Harbour. Poured a hazy dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is malt molasses wild yeast sour. The flavour is medium bitter light sweet with a rich malt yeast alcohol liqourice chocolate palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Packed with flavours. I could drink this all day!

Tap in Little Delirium Brussels. A chocolatey beer, reddish brown rather than black. Warming booze, sweetish, not really roasty or bitter. I guess a pleasant strong dubbel, though not outstanding. Not always sure these Belgians can be trusted with their foreign beer styles...

Bottle @All My Vinyl Tasting, Edinburgh. Pours dark brown with a very thin head. More like a milk stout than a ’stout’. I liked the Belgium nose to it but the rest of it did not match up.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Schokolade, dunkle Früchte. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, angenehm fruchtig, schokoladig, eridig.

Bottle at home. Pours clear dark brown, little head. Light spicy nose, some dark sugars. Sugar comes through more on the taste. Sweet finish. OK.

Black with light beige head. Sweet malts, lots of red fruits, light yeast and spices, roasted notes. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Taste is mainly sweet with light tart touch and light bitter in the finish. More Belgian than stout. Like it though.

Brune foncée légèrement rougeâtre, effervescence faible, pas de mousse. Malts caramels un rien toastés, trop sucrée, manque de corps, un rien fruitée. C’est un stout, ça???

Dark ruby, almost black, with light brown lacing foam head. Light aroma, little caramel what I would not expect. Tastes sweet to, not like a srout. (Velp 201402)

Caramel, résine, chocolat, bière relativement ronde, goût d’alcool délicat. Assez pétillante, bon stout !

750ml c&c bottle via trade with bmoosey, thanks Bruce. Poured a medium density cola looking dark brown body underneath a large foamy super light beige head that had some serious staying power. Aroma was sort of all over the place, bubble gum and dark fruit sweetness, Belgian yeast, uncooked brown bread and raisin dough. Medium to thinner body with stronger bubbly carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor is similar to the aroma with big Belgian yeast, dark fruits, sweet sugar, bubble gum, dry toast. Seems more like a dubbel or quad over a stout but still not bad once you get past the idea that this is classified as a stout.
