33cl Bottle @ Botteltje, Oostende. Bitter aroma, chocolat, toast. Dark colour with a foamy tan head, obvious lacing. Fondant chocolat, roast, toast. Warm soft feeling.

Very dark brown, light beige and quite bubbly head. Toasted bagel, dried figs, rye bread and brioche. Light sweet and sour body together with the toasted malts. Sweet aftertaste. Disappointing. (33cl bottle, very cheap)

Bottle, 33 cl at Black Swan. Clear reddish brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel, rye bread, dark fruits and brown sugar. Taste is watery with sweet dark fruits and faint roast. Medium body, no detacable bitterness. Belgian stouts - why?

750mL c&c thanks to Travlr. Deep mahogany pour. Large carbonation. Mild gusher alert. Overcarbed with large tan foam leaving sheety 360 lacing. Dark cherry and smoldering smoke nose. Taste is rich, sugary, dark cherries, loads of sugar, mild smoke. Interesting. Sweet and savory. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

75cl Brown, cork and caged bottle, just out of date when reviewed (mid Dec 2010). Looked stoutish, black body, light tan head, which gave some heavy lacing as the beer sank down the glasses. The smell was chocolate malts, hints of roasted/toasted malts too. The taste followed the aromas, but with more umph. Having said that, it wasn’t flavoursome or highly tasty, just a pleasant stout type beer. Well carbonated and a little on the thin side for a traditional stout. OK, but not a world beater.

13/IV/2012 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 3/II/12 (2012-350)

Clear red to dark brown beer, light beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty sweet, caramel, dried fruits, milk chocolate, mocha. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet caramel first, sweet malts, some red fruits, dried fruits, touch of mocha, pretty fruity in general. Aftertaste: quite hoppy, fruity, mocha, some red berries, chocolate, sweet sugary undertone beneath it all, little cloying.

DutchDrebus (2362) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - MAR 15, 2012
Dark black colour with some nice ruby redness shining through, full off white head. Smells sweet and malty. Tastes very sweet, sugar and alcohol. Too much carbo and a full sugar body.

BeerViking (1457) - Lüneburg, Lower Saxony, GERMANY - MAR 3, 2012
Bottle at Gainsbar, Kortrijk. Deep black with small beige head, demerara, tart candy and a touch of coffee on the nose. Big body, balancing underlying sweetness with burnt toffee, some dry hops and a little vine fruit. Dry-sweet finish.
