Dark brown liquid, long beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted nuts, coffee, wine, chocolate, belgian yeast, anise. Medium body, high carbonated, bitter taste, dry texture.

Dark brown color with brown head. Nose: roasted malts and chocolate, small perfume. Taste: very much chocolate, bit of mocha, gentle roasted malts, butterscotch, some fruity hints. . Bit creamy, soft body. Dry in the finish, some bitterness but does not beat you with a stick. Overall the finish is good, and can appreciate the beer. Only, the 9% seems a bit too much for what it is. It ain’t a traditional stout, it ain’t an imperial one. But still, I’m enjoying it. Thanks Joris for the bottle.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2014 BOTTLE 33 CL. Look: clear dark ruby-brown almost black, yeast flakes, big beige creamy head. Aroma: starts with harsh sulphury notes that goes away after a while, some stale vinegary wine, sweet prunes, dates, a bit soapy, a touch of black malts. Taste: starts with some alcoholic spice, but the sweetness takes over as the beer warms up. Quite sweet, dark sugar, some sweet dried fruit (dates, prunes), light bitterness builds on in the finish but never really balances the sweetness out. Decent.

Butelka 0.33L
Odczucie: Wysokie nasycenie CO2, faktura kremowa, ciało niskie+
Całość: Zbyt słodkie i nie przypomina stoutu, raczej dubbel.

"as a stout, this beer is a rather expensive joke, let alone as an imperial. had more in common with a pepsi in look, feel, and even flavor. light malts, a touch of roast, lots of fruit, and butterscotch and yeast. not a horrible beer, classified as a belgian ale. still average, though. but to pay 9.99 for this "stout" kinda pisses me off :)"

Not a lot of aroma so the rating is a little lower. Great palate and the flavors are refined but nice. Raisins, vanilla, some iron/water. Very soft. Bottle at t Bierhuys in Woerden.

0.33L bottle. Pours black with a fluffy tan head. Aromas of coffee, alcohol, bready malt, some acid (balsamic vinegar). Sweet malt up front, not very complex, and not much in the middle. Finishes fairly dry, with some more hints of the sourness, mild roasted malt and herby hop, with warm alcohol in the chest. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and mild, yet sharp carbonation. Overall, a pleasant-enough beer with some nice aromas and mouthfeel, but nothing really standing out flavor-wise.

Strong version of the classic Buffalo, originally only intended for export on 75 cl. Yellowish beige, dense head, colour a very opaque brown, bordering on black but not the jet black I would expect from a big stout. Aroma of liquorice, coffee, almond, milk chocolate, candied dates, cane sugar, biscuit, aniseed, blue grapes; taste malty, soft with a powdery and somewhat oily mouthfeel, dark fruits, sweet, perhaps even a tad syrupy, nice spicy notes adding complexity and finishing in a kind of friendly roasted bitterness with herbal hops and warming alcohol. Very well balanced.

Ik ben sowieso geen fan van stout-bieren, en dit is geen uitzondering. Ik vond het niets voor mij

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2014 Rule 1: there is no aroma. It is quite odd, it just smells like nothing. Taste is super nice.
