Commercial Description:
Fruli is a high quality Belgian white beer blended with pure fruit juice. The strawberry juice compliments the zesty fruitiness of the wheat beer and the result is a natural, soft and refreshing drink that is simply delicious!

Appearance: Cloudy red. Not much head, and shortlived. Aroma: Like strawberry juice. Very sweet. Taste: Strawberry juice, quite sweet. Hint of sourness. Quite nice. Info: 250ml bottle, 3/12-2007

250 ml bottle. A pinkish white head over a cloudy dark red body. Milky/yoghurty strawberry aroma, pretty nice actually. Taste has moderately sweet and light acidulous flavors of berries. Light-bodied with a more prononced sweetness towards the finish. Not very beer-ish, quite refreshing though.

Sampled this at the Porthouse location on Nassau street in Dublin. 99% sure this is just their Weiss beer that’s combined with strawberry puree in secondary. Pours a hazy, strawberry colored red with a thin, creamy white head. Aroma is fruit, strawberries obviously with some banana mixed in. Flavor is the same, the strawberry flavor doesn’t overpower the weiss beer flavors though. Finish is clean. Nice fruit beer, not too fruity and easy to drink.

Tiny little 250ml bottle in some toss pub. Much better on tap, you can really taste the strawberry and then cream. Bottle version seemed far too sweet and sugary. Feels like I’m about to get bollocked by a dentist. My non-beer drinking missus likes it though so it bought me an extra half an hour in the pub. So thank you once again Belgium.

250 ml bottle. Cloudy reddish brown colour. Medium-sized reddish white head. Fresh sweet strawberry aroma with a lemony background. Initial sweet flavour from strawberries, then a more acidic refreshing fruity character. A bit sugary sensation overall. Feels a little like strawberry juice in a glass. A little too sweet.

Draft at The Spaniards on the Heath. Reddish hazy color with a vigorous pink head that laced. It smells like strawberries. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Strawberry fruit flavor over, perhaps, wheat. It’s a bit sweet, but that washes away. A slight bitterness in the finish. Very interesting.

AR 4/10 – AP 2/5 – FV 4/10 – PT 2/5 – OA 11/20 FRULI De mémoire.

250ml bottle. Pours a murky pinkish red with a white head. The aroma is pure sickly strawberry. Smooth at first and then fizzy/tingly on the tongue. Starts with an intense strawberry flavour and then a wheat note comes through. The flavours feel rather artificial and overall this is pretty poor. Oh well, I can tick off ’fruit beer’ on the style list now.
