sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 21, 2008 250mL bottle from the LCBO in Toronto. Pours a nice, cloudy dark brown. Smells like children’s cough syrup - ugh. The taste is, not surprisingly, of strawberries. Better than children’s cough syrup anyway. This is like strawberry juice. (Well, I suppose it IS strawberry juice.) Which isn’t so bad, I suppose - unless you were hoping for something resembling a beer. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Feb 17, 2008 Sampled as ’Frubee Strawberry’:
Deep orange/ruby coloured body with severe hazyness and a nice pinkish head with some cream colour to it. Aroma of yeast, caster sugar, malt and you guessed it: pure strawberries...very nice. Medium to Full-bodied; Wierd tartness and strong flavours up front with a bunch of alcohol and malt noticeable then fading to an all out fruit attack. Aftertaste shows some of the lingering bitterness, but mostly fruity and almost no alcohol is noticeable. Overall, this beer is alright - not enough going on for me to truly enjoy...but its good to sample. I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased at K&E Discount Liquors in New Paltz, New York on 15-December-2005. rwgould (58), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Feb 14, 2008 250ml bottle. Pours a cloudy bubbly, reddish brown colour. Smells almost entirely of strawberries, with a hint of sourness. Very sweet, quite smooth. Kind of reminds me of a strawberry soda mixed with some alcohol. Doesn’t really taste like a beer, but I quite like it. GRM (1237), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Jan 31, 2008 Brown bottle, 250 ml, purchased at the LCBO in Sioux Lookout; eye: brown with a strawberry hue, no effervescence, tiny beige head that disappears rapidly; nose: lots of strawberry, fruity, sugar, strawberry yogout; mouth: lots of strawberry, then a wave of sugar, a bit of malt, cloying finale with a lot of strawberry, quite sweet, average carbonation, medium body, a bit thin; overall: once is enough

Not bad at all - don’t believe everything you read on ratebeer. Tiny pink head, red-grapefruit-pink shades in the body. Quite fresh strawberry aroma. Taste mushed strawberries but remember to leave out the yeast. Without it, it’s dry and fresh. GreenDragon (213), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jan 18, 2008 Pours a hazy cherry red with a small white head that quickly subsides. Sweet, overpowering strawberry aroma. Sweet strawberry taste on a light lively body., FatPhil (3446), Espoo, Finland Jan 13, 2008 250ml bottle.
Red, hazy (from yeast only at bottom of bottle), thin wispy head. Very sweet strawberry aroma - like real fruit. Taste very similar. Without yeast it’s crisper and sourer, with yeast it’s slushier and a bit rubbery (not dark burnt rubber though). No finish. Summery. doublebock (196), USA Jan 11, 2008 Sweet fruity malty candy aroma. Color is hazy orange-amber. A bit flat, Tart strawberry orange flavor without much hops to speak of. Hints of cotton candy. Not the best belgian strawbeer but doesn’t deserve this low of a rating.
