3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 thebeertourist (4271) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 4, 2006
75 cl bottle with champagne cork, bought at the ZBF 2006.
Hazy golden colour with hints of orange. A big white head. Poured carefully to avoid the sediment. Nice floral and grassy aroma, with spices, at least coriander, and yeastiness in the background. Flavours are surprisingly dry throughout, ending very dry. Coriander is there, but subdued. More prominent is the grassy hoppiness. Also some cellar flavours. Some warming alcohol, surprisingly light-bodied, dry mouthfeel.
The label does not give much away, yet the hop frame indicate a relationship to Poperings Hommelbier. According to the ZBF brochure this is a blend of Het Kapittel Tripel and Watou’s Wit made for Blauwershof in Godewaersvelde, France, much like the blend of Het Kapittel Abt and Watou’s Wit made for ’t Hommelhof. I have not tasted the latter, but this blend is definitely successful, uniting the spiciness of the wit with the solidly hoppy tripel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 wimpie133 (380) - Brugge, BELGIUM - AUG 23, 2010
Bottle, 75 cl, shared with Parket. Light hazy golden coloured beer with medium white stable head. Aroma of grains, some malts, light sweet and spices. Taste is a nice combination of hops - giving a nice light bitterness to the beer, malts - giving a nice light sweetness to the beer, a spicy background and some alcohol taste. No top beer, but very nice beer anyway (makes me think a bit of Lupulus)
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (7310) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 14, 2006
Fully hazy yellow beer with orange shine; small but persistent, just off-white head. Flowery, lime blossom and lunaria nose, with yeasty esters, fruity and a whiff of sugar syrup. Well-balanced, sweet/dry-bitterish, but the sugars win out eventually. Mind you, I’ve had this fresher. Again lunaria and I seem to get some coriander too, ending in a spicey finish. Medium bodied. No new aftertaste, but longlastign finish. I’ve had this before, at the Blauwershof, and it was in better shape then. There’s definitely more in this.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 11, 2010
(Bottled, 0.75l, had the yeasty part) Murky golden with a small, firm and lacy head. Mild aroma of pale malt, some yeast, and cardboard. Flavor is quite fruity with some earthiness and yeast, low bitterness, caramely malt. Medium+ body, high but soft carbonation, very slightly alcoholic. Ok, coulda been different with no yeast. 5346

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2012
At Blauwershof, Godewaersvelde (in France, despite the Flemish name), where it is the house beer, back in April 2008. A pretty decent blondish beer with moderate, but not excessive, spicy notes. Some yeasty character with some residual sweetness. Nothing particularly stands out but it’s solid enough.
