Coffee and chocolate aromas are obvious, but thereís also some sweetness (sugar, honey?). It has a full taste, but doesnít feel heavy. Although itís not my taste, I have to admit itís a good beer.

Tap @ Van Moll, small sample. Slight hazy brown color, short head. Aroma of dark bread, slight coffee, chocolate, caramel. Medium bitter both from malts and hop, some sweetness as well. Slight dry in the finish. Great drink for 5%.

On tap @ Arendsnest (sample size). Clear (dark) brown color. Off white head. Aromaís: red fruit, caramel/brown sugar, roasted malts. Retronasal the roast is much more upfront with the fruit & caramel more subdued. Flavor is roasted, lightly sweet, with light fruity sourness. Light bodied, not thin. Finishes slightly dry, lots of roast, ashy almost, lightly bitter. Well done, but not really my style.

Benzai (14282) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAY 30, 2014
Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy red brown color, medium sized beige to slightly brown head. Aroma is malts, slightly roasty, caramel, a hint of dark fruits. Taste malts, caramel, slightly roasty, pretty bitter. Too much carbonation imo, really gets in the way of the flavors. Or maybe itís just me...

On tap at the brewpub 250 ml into a shaker. Just as I was about to leave they put the keg on so I had to stay for another one. ABV 5% Dark brown colour on the body, huge tan head as the guy was pouring it, he seemed to have troubles pouring it as most of what it was coming was foam, maybae because of new keg? Eventually I got a glass with a two fingers tall head, quite thick with good retention. Medium lacing on the glass. Tastes of red fruits, toasted malts, moderate sweet. Aroma of ripe fruits, a certain variety of berries that I canít remember now. Medium thin body low carbo. Overall good one.
