Tasting glass draft @ Van Moll Brewpub. Marketed as “De eigen pilsener van Van Moll” / Van Moll’s Pilsner whilst it is their own beer not brewed on premise apparently. Very hazy orange, creamy white. Nose is weird wet paper, cereal, sugar, hay, musty. Taste is heavy creamy yeast, wet paper, sugar, tastes like they took the base of a slightly dull hoppy blond beer from their line up & cut-out anything remotely interesting, getting some cereal, huger, overly dull & yeasty. Thick cereal & yeast body. Meh.

Poured light amber with a dense off white head. Aroma of sweet grainy malt. Light body, flavour is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Inoffensive.

Huh?! I had it, rated it and stored it here. And now it has disappeared?! WTF! So, I had this beer from draught at the source. Always friendly lads working behind the counter. A firm handshake, babble and minute later you’ll find yourself a seat to enjoy your beer. Most, if not all Van Moll beers are more than decen, they’re pretty good and so was this pils. Maybe not the best out there, but easy drinkable and tasty enough to enjoy in good company over a chat or a game... Cheers and don’t delete more of my ratings!

On tap @ Van Moll. The aroma is grainy, bit citric, bit hay. Bit hazy, golden coloured with a thin, white head. The taste is light bitter, bit grainy. Crisp and easy drinking beer.

Tap @ Van Moll, small sample. Slight hazy yellow to golden color, medium white head. Aroma of fresh grassy and spicy hops, hint of citrus, slight grainy malt. Soft bitter taste, crisp. Medium to high carbonation, medium bodied. Clean, crisp, good bitterness. Decent stuff.

Tap at the brewpub, 250 ml glass. Golden yellow colour on the body, pale, with good activity in it. Small and thin white head with average retention, light lacing left behind. Malts on the aroma, light hops and a touch of lemon. Taste follows, malts, clean grass, some lemon that gives it an extra refreshing character, a much better option than having a standard macro pils on tap. Highly carbonated, medium thin body. Okay beer, thirst quencher, good for what it’s made.
