75cl bottle courtesy of beerhunter111@kevnic2008’s exotic Kurstadt tasting 12/07/2014. Fresh grapefruit rind and dry white pepper in the nose, fine almond dry saison body, nice floral citrus finish. None of the ponderous esters of a 20th century BE ale, therefore maybe too clean: like a proper Dutch organised rinse of chaotic BE yeast cultures. Very well executed and inspired new wave update of a Belgian ale influenced by US-hopped saison, lacking just that extra bit of singular character in the mid (hay, thinner cardboard) to make it really stand out, - plus a tad pricy for a first launch I’d say.
