Bottle. Nose is honeyed, but with overtones that are both tart and smoky -- there’s more than a touch of bourbon, brown sugar, and vanilla in the nose. Pours a hazy dark gold -- hey, look! Mead that looks like honey! There’s definite smoke on the front of the palate, with a floral middle note that finishes almost dry. Neither overly sweet or medicinal, this is a really enjoyable mead.
