3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Spring Lake, MI). Pours a deeper glowing copper berry hue, a bit hazy with healthy blueberry skin tannic glow, some orange, fiery copper and frothy offwhite head atop that sits as a decent ring, laces small. Aromas are touches of pulpy blueberry, gentle apple juice and a bit of dryness. A nice darker, blueberry tinged berry sweetness. Initial is a bit fuzzy, mellow carbonation and yeast meet red apple, a touch of tartness. Depth from the blueberry shows a bit of tannic blueberry skin, a bit pulpy and gentle sweetness. Almost a jab of acidity, touches of green apple. A more gentle backend is a touch sweet, faint spiciness and yeast meet deadened mellow apple juice. Some gentle fuzziness, mellow sweetness and blueberry elements linger. Solid stuff, I thought the sweetness up front might interfere but it comes in line pretty quickly. A touch of firmer body, mellow nose, but a solid fruited cider.

Can. Pale pour with a white head. Apples, blueberries and some spice in the aroma and taste. Nice bit of extra fruitiness from the blueberries without making it overly sweet

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can from Mike leftover from RAT XIV. Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Pours a murky reddish pink with slight white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of Apple cider, wine, and some sweet cherries. Taste is very sweet but not cloyingly so. Nice apple presence that doesn’t feel artificial with the berry coming in at the end. Overall, very thirst quenching but I get that "I’m going to have a raging headache tomorrow" feeling if I drink a whole can.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint can. Pours a darker blush color with a quickly forming eggshell head that immediately drops to a ring, leaving a couple spots of lace and an actively carbonated body. Nose involves nice floral and lightly yeasty notes, some apple skin, some light berries, maybe a light touch of spice. Fairly sweet, quite tart. Light bodied, active, with a drying tartness on the end. Pretty decent, quenching with all the tartness. Nice for warmer weather.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 2, 2014 Pint can poured to a tulip at Warren’s Ale House in Wheaton, IL., displaying a clear & very bright, rosy color, with no real foam or lacing, but some diminishing, light, leggy sheeting of the liquid on the glass. The aroma was notable ripened apple & spice. Medium bodied, with effervescence that was soft, but distinct tartness & dryness sufficed to keep the palate entertained, while sweetness, apple, and a touch of berry were the other flavor players. Apple was dominant, while berry was present, but specific blueberry nature was not that obvious. Alcohol was noticeable after the fact. Crisp, and very refreshing, nonetheless. Next encounter, on tap, and chalice served at the Beer House in Yorktown Center, Lombard, IL.. More cherry & berry to the sweet, fruity, and tart nose. Refreshingly sweet, but tart flavor.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
16oz can, from Dutch’s. Big tart taste. Blueberry. Golden and green apples, with lots of skin. Very dry finish. Sour tart, and moderate to bigger sweet, kind of tangy. Pours a totally clear dark brown red (falu red) color. Medium to bigger body. Kind of slick texture. Lighter carbonation. I can see the appeal to this, but for me it’s very hard to drink. Very sweet. 16oz? for real? Hard for me to do. Probably could have finished this if it was in a sane-person’s 12oz can, but 16oz was just 4oz too much. Just not my thing, I guess. Edit after much perserverence I ended up finishing this eventually, but my feeling about the cider remain unchanged
