Draft at Jerry’s. Pale gold with light, white head / Fat nose of candied apple & pear, with some barnyard funk / Medium to full body, mostly fat with modeest fine-bubbled carbonation, moderately sweet, trace of sourness / Steely, young flavors of red apple, pear, some Jolly Rancher, with quirkier straw, old sweater, bologna, cheese / A very successful whimsy.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Bangers & Lace. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that starts at the edges and dissipates completely. Aroma has a strong funky barnyard note with underlying tart but dry apples. Flavor starts with a touch of acid and tart apples with a strong funky barnyard backbone and a dry finish.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Vander Mill Dirty Jim - on tap at Bangers & Lace. Aroma is manure aka "barnyard". Flavor is acidic and tart and very representative of the dry english style. Very "funky" as the brewer’s deScription indicates, and I think this limits its appeal. Good, but unexceptional.
