COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
9%vol. 33, 75 and 150cl Beer very amber in color, strong, nose fruity and delicate, soft and round with the palate; slightly hopped but correctly spiced (roasted chicory, coriander, and sweet orange peel, among other ingredients). Bottle fermented and complex. On the Port-y side fresh. Spiced distinctly with orange, corriander and chicory. Should cellar nicely.

Sopra i 40 anni 5 bicchieri diventano 4... :)

Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper with no head. The aroma is strong funk, caramel, figs, spice. Medium mouth, funky, fruity, lemon zest, good.

VBC 2015 hazy amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of spice, malty, sweets and weak sour. A flavor of sweet malt, spice, wood and dry. A saison?

Bottle share at VBC. Flew out the bottle, overcarbonated. Hazy dark amber with a small white head. Brett aroma. Medium low body, low bitterness and hop flavour.

28/II/15 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) as "Cochonette" @ home - BB: VIII/2016 (2015-241)

Clear amber to red brown beer, small irregular aery beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit dirty, sourish, apple skin, fruity, bit sweet, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, some caramel, sourish touch, green apples, bit dirty, very spicy, and is that cloves? Aftertaste: caramel, very spicy, cloves, bit sweet, unpleasant bitterness.

33 cl bottle at home (Cochonette). Dark brown in colour and pan flat. Aroma is sharp, wine-like. Taste is also sharp, some fruit and then dry. Tart, mineral, almost sherry tastes. No real effervescence, sticky finish. Not sure what to think of this. I normally enjoy sour beers, but this one falls short.

2015/01/08 - Pours a hazy amber/brown colour with a foamy off white head that lingers. Aroma is yeast, orange, strawberries, barnyard, sweet malt and earthy tones. Taste is much of the same; strawberries, yeast, sweet malt, funk and tart fruit. Has a certain lambic quality to it. Mouthfeel is medium with lightly biting carbonation and a drying, mildly astringent finish. Interesting beer, but I probably will not revisit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the Vapeur beers with cartoony pigs on the label - I tasted the female Cochonette version as well, apparently the name for the same beer in 33 cl bottles, though I believe Cochonnette also mentioned an ABV of 9.5%. Anyway, this had a yellowish white, moussy, quite stable head and deep orangey copper colour, hazy. ’Fresh’ yet somewhat funky aroma of grains, orange, strawberry, coriander, lemon peel, cheese, earth (which could be the chicory), barnyard, yoghurt, dry yeast, honey, cheese, pepper. Vivid fruity and estery onset, lemony and even slightly lambic-like tart touch, rounded and fully malty mouthfeel, light caramelly, very yeasty, spicy notes especially towards the finish, with mild, earthy, leafy hop bitterness in the finish, alcohol well hidden. One of those delightfully tasty Wallonians, a kind of hybrid between a saison and a Belgian-style barley wine. Along with their Saison de Pipaix and their Vapeur en Folie, I’d even consider this somewhat of a classic.

Corps leger.
