COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
9%vol. 33, 75 and 150cl Beer very amber in color, strong, nose fruity and delicate, soft and round with the palate; slightly hopped but correctly spiced (roasted chicory, coriander, and sweet orange peel, among other ingredients). Bottle fermented and complex. On the Port-y side fresh. Spiced distinctly with orange, corriander and chicory. Should cellar nicely.

75 cl bottle. Color is dark amber with a light brown head. Bottle have been infected, taste and nose quite sour. Taste is plums, malty with a sour finish. More like a oud bruin. Kind of nice beer.

Bought a 1996 bomber in Minneapolis, MN. Wine-corked and capped. Brought it to a bottle share event to see what remained within. To my surprise, it was sour. Not sure if it was a batch or aging issue. Aroma was barnyard/basement, much like a dry gueuze. A hit of spice, but it was far from distinct. Appearance was a translucent yellow/gold. No head retention for more than a few seconds. Taste was a dry gueuze. Mellow with little body, much like a 3-year lambic. Finish, however, was a bit astringent. A bit of carbonation did remain; and the flavor took a bit to fade. As a 9% blonde, I would give a poor rating. But as an old lambic, I would rate this as phenomenal...especially considering that it may be 9%abv. So many questions!

Pours a dark cloudy brown amber with a small beige head. Aroma is of caramel malt, Belgian yeast, some dark fruit esters, plum and raisin notes. Taste same as aroma with some mildly sour yeast flavors, tart dark fruit. Palate is a medium body with low carbonation. Finish has some caramel malt, yeast, mild tart notes with dark fruit, notes of plums and raisins. Overall not the best but a good drinking flavorful brew,

Donkerbruin met een klein beetje beige schuim. Weinig koolzuur. Ruikt fruitig. Smaakt prima, beetje zoet, zuur en bitter. Prima bier.

a nice surprise this one, good complex aroma, fruit/dark fruit, some nice unexpected weird fruits (ik vermoed pruimen!), hints of chocolat, very nice... flavour is a bit to sweet, but for the rest quite balanced.... reminds me of gulden draak, but a bit stranger...

Draft at Monks. Difficult out of control foam (start of a keg I think.) Cloudy red brown pour. Sweet and sour. Not a Saison. Medium caramel. Not heavy. Complex tartness. Somewhat a full vinous sour red. Liked this a lot though I suspect the taste would change of time and under different conditions.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF, August 2013. (sold as Cochonne speciale 2012) Hazy orange with a medium white head. Rather sweet aroma and taste of fruit, yeast, coriander and orange. The finish was on the dry side and a bit sour. Descent.
