9%vol. 33, 75 and 150cl Beer very amber in color, strong, nose fruity and delicate, soft and round with the palate; slightly hopped but correctly spiced (roasted chicory, coriander, and sweet orange peel, among other ingredients). Bottle fermented and complex. On the Port-y side fresh. Spiced distinctly with orange, corriander and chicory. Should cellar nicely.

75cl bottle from Belgian Beer Station. Bottle only capped, no cork. Didn’t expect it but bottle opened with a loud pop and the beer sprayed out of the bottle. Never seen this before. Stored it upright for a couple of weeks though. Pitty for the lost beer (although the dog licked a bit off the floor; seemed to like it a lot). I had to clean the living room though (at 00:30 AM !!!) Beer is hazy amber with an off white noisy head leaving lots of lace on the glass. The aroma is very fruity and fresh but also yeasty and funky. The taste is tart and fruity evolving to a yeasty side with a pretty bitter, dry and grainy finish. The beer has got a medium body with little carbonation. The 9% ABV does its work very well. Overall an original beer with lots of character. I hope that the next bottle won’t be such a gusher.

As Cochonnette. Poured reddish amber wit negligible head. Aroma of alcohol soaked fruit, marzipan, lightly spiced. Medium body, flavour is sweet, heavy berries, vinous.

Strange beer. It’s dark, high on alcohol and quite sweet. Taste of malt, fruit and coriander I think.

A rather outstanding draft at Victoire. Very sour but nice with a dry gritty finish. Great appearance in a goblet, dark amber, hazy, great lacing. Nose is heavy on the fruit and spice. Dark fruit like plums along with citrus. Similar in the palate. Got richer and more intricate as it warmed.

Bottle, 1996 vintage. Pours a mostly clean brown/red with surprisingly good carbonation. Tart aroma with hints of fruit and spice. Mouthfeel is a bit flat with a tart, green apple finish. Orange peel comes through in the mid palate. Extremely dry and puckering finish. Cool to see how something develops of 15+ years.
