Commercial Description:
9%vol. 33, 75 and 150cl Beer very amber in color, strong, nose fruity and delicate, soft and round with the palate; slightly hopped but correctly spiced (roasted chicory, coriander, and sweet orange peel, among other ingredients). Bottle fermented and complex. On the Port-y side fresh. Spiced distinctly with orange, corriander and chicory. Should cellar nicely.

750 bottle. pours cloudy orange-brown. had the look of unfiltered cider. thin white head, little if any lace. not much aroma first time round. smelled only malt, and worried that the taste would match. was pleasantly surprised - nice tart, lightly sweet taste with dry finish. very mild bitter in there as well. flavor had a pear like quality. after a few sips, the musty, funky smell of belgian yeasts became more apparent. i really enjoyed this one. easy drinking (no hint of the ABV), and has some complexity. was on sale at my local shop ($5.99) - definitely going to grab a bottle for the cellar. a year worth of cellaring brought out the sour. great cherry-like sour flavors. carbonation was greatly improved as well. unfortunately, the aroma left something to be desired. funky malty aroma was turn off for me. perhaps the chicory and corriander. the lil lady really enjoyed it though so maybe its just me.

Un assaggio dal bicchiere di Nicoletta al Falstaff; ottima impressione, dopo che una bottiglia bevuta mesi fa si era rivelata terribile (andata a male).

Bottle. Pours copper with a white head. Aroma has spice, fruit, and a bit of sour berry. Medium body. Lightly sweet flavor, with fruits and spices. Ends on a funky sour note. Not bad.

Pour is a dark red with a large tan head. Aroma at first was a little skunky thanks the the green bottle but things changed quickly. Lots of sour fruit followed with some spice and funk. Flavor is again super sour fruit with a large spice with a heavy breadyness. Finish has some barnyard-horseblanket or whatever you call it funk. This is a very good beer at a decent price and something to look for.

I thought that this was a pretty good Belgian Strong Ale. I thought that the herbal and spiced elements were good. It poured a dark copper with good head and decent inviting aroma. Decent mouth feel. However there is one flavor among the palette that is a bit offputting. Kept this beer from being very good rather than just pretty good.
