Good amber ale. Nothing special, but quite flavorful. The finish is weak, the end of the beer bottle is less tasty.

As Red Ale, a surprising, accidental find by Karlo at Pivni Galerie, thanks for sharing! Darker orange-amber body, not that red. Candyish, slightly herbal yet yeasty aroma. Not too yeasty in the aroma, but more so in the taste. Sweetish taste, slightly herbal again, but with notes of beets too. No bitterness. Not thrilling but more or less passable. For 30ish crowns, a relatively good choice.

Not my favourite type of beer but decided to taste it because I respect the brewery. Surprisingly it was better than IPA that i bought together with it. The Appearance is just marvellous - amber red with a good foam. The taste was also not bad but lacked depth and bitterness.

Seeing the level of quality of beers in Russia, can only ne happy of this one. Light nuts taste, not too sweet therefore no rea$ caramel notr, sold in liter plastic bottle in a paper bag to drink on the street, this home brewed beer is okay++ but nothing special. filtered and unpasterized, to drink within a week or two. The nam means red, says it’s light and refrrshing, which it’s. Alcohol is @ 4.5 since after 22:00 only beers under 5% can be sold here. Foam fades quick away.

A - Pours a red amber beer, amazingly with no head whatsoever and no bubbles coming up to the surface. S - In the nose there are some fruity esters, hops and yeast. No hints that I'm actually smelling a beer. T - Sour! Feels like a watered down chicha or soda. There are some floral notes and touches of hops.Very unbalanced. O - An horrible brew. If you have tried real russian kvas then the best approximation would be that this tastes like a kvas who has been left in the open a few days till it became sour, then some water was added to bring back some of the sourness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled, from Norman, St. Petersburg. Hazy amber, small head. Buttery nose. Medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Mildly roasty, caramelly with some milk and cellar tones. Somewhat oily. Alive and interesting, although somewhat imperfect.

1L Bottle from the tap at the brewpub - Thanks Omhper - Amber with lively carbonation and a small head. Maple syrup, dried fruit, caramel and a hint of spice in the aroma. Malty, fruity and slightly metallic taste with notes of toffee, nuts and dried fruit. Not bad.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2014 Tap to bottle in brewpub in St. Petersburg, transported to Espoo same day - a million thanks John!
Fairly simple sweet grainy aroma. Deep orange, tiny loose head. Soft carbonation, and gentle malty retronasals, a touch lactic. SImple sweet baltic dark lager taste. Pretty tasty malts, gentle hopping in the finish, some caramel too. A little boring compared with the Domashnoe.
Rerate: Bottle - from ompher’s trip to St. Petersburg (5:4:5+:3:11=2.8)
More buttery aroma. More toffee in the taste. Diacetyl makes this quite slick. Graininess still there. Would drop this a little on taste and overall, but leaving the score the same, as it’s certainly not as fresh as it could be.
Rerate: 500ml bottle - shared by Elvira - thanks! (6:3:6:3:12=3.0)
Red berry aroma, a little sharp, some nice grains, full and grainy, husky too. Smooth palate, carbonation quite high, but as it’s quite warm, so the carbonation is welcome. Full grainy taste, gentle huskiness too. Very drinkable red ale, better than average. Full on grains - almost eco levels.
