COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Can from The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) Pours a clear straw colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of grainy malt, grass, hay and lemon. Taste of grainy malt, grass and bitter lemony hops. Light bodied, high carbonation and an oily texture. A bittersweet, grassy finish. Nicely balanced, but gassy and quite bland.

Bottle. Pale yellow body, medium to small head. Thin pale lager aroma. Crisp and clean pale lager taste. Clean and sessionable pale lager. So what’s the downside? It’s boring as hell.

(Bottle, Food Box, Brussels, 22 Oct 2014) Pale yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with bread, grainy malt, grassy hops and a touch of citrus. Malty taste with notes of bread, grain, a hint of citrus and a gentle grassy bitterness. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Fairly fresh and quite a decent pale lager.

33 cl bottle. Bittery grainy aroma. Taste of citrus, bitter and a bit watery. A bit too watery, but I think it?s an ideal summer beer.
