COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafs located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Bottle. Pours a very bright and translucent Pilsner color with a nice foam head. Looks a little like bubbles from soap. Aroma is a little yeasty, but refreshing. Some potato chips in there. Little skunky (amonia) as well (stale beer?). Taste is watery, thirst quencher. Strange development, after taste is a little like potato chips again.

Simple Belgian lager beer. Grainy, bitter, but also slightly artificial. Always around on hipster locations.

A pale yellow spritzy beer with a loose white head. Clean aroma of hops and candy sugar, with some lemon peel and dry grass. In the mouth its light malts, a bit of milky toffee, and wet paper (not cardboard). Ends with a citrus note and more candied sugar. Very carbonated and theres a bit of a mineral taste from that. Refreshing and balanced, there are no fireworks here but then again there werent going to be any anyway.

Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pours a hazy straw color with a small white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruit and yeast with a hint of grains. Taste is a spicy hop bitterness with a fruity and malty sweetness. Light body with good carbonation leaving a pleasant mouth feel. A well crafted brew for the style and recommended.

Keg at Billys, Harpenden. Very pale clear gold. Sweet with some citrus and fresh leafy hops. Better than the average pale lager- theres actually some character here. And even a bit of body. But its still not great.

Bottled (33cl). At first sight lively with a diminishing white head. The aroma is strongly presented by the smell hay and grain. Feels lively in the mouth, texture is thin. A decent pale lager with a light bittersweet taste, lasting for a short time after finishing.

Ins Glas ergiet sich ein hell goldgelbes Bier mit schner Schaumkrone. Geruch hopfig, grasig, blumig. Geschmack s malzig, grasig, blumig, leicht fruchtig, getreidig.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale golden beer with a nice white head on top. Aroma is skunky, grainy and lager-ish. Some smelly yeasty stuff going on, lots of oxidation due to the green bottle. Flavor is light bitter with some sweetness going on as well. Really mediocre, quite crisp and refreshing, but really nothing special. Im glad that it hasnt got that much Belgian yeast present though. Mediocre at best..

This beer was not what I expected. It smells quite sour, but not very pleasant. Appearance is ok, clear, pale yellow with a decent white head. Taste; some dry sourness with a bitter ending. I would enjoy this in a pub, with friends, when nothing more tasteful is available.
