COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Pale yellow colour with little head. Aroma light, slightly metallic and fruity. Fizzy, light bodied with a metallic, slightly soapy with a bit of citrus taste. Short finish, mostly metallic. Superior to the average lager, nice on a warm summer day. A little better than the average rating suggests.

Vedett? Overestimated! The org. Duvel beer is so much better! Beer blurbs don’t count, but I will drink a Duvel when offered. i will drink a Vedett Extra Blond when offered. There’s a difference though.

Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Nose of light malt and some grass. Bright, glowing yellow and lace that slowly breaks away. Gentle sweet maltiness, moderate bittering, a slight touch of pepper. Thin body. Okay...barely. More or less drinkable, certainly more so in the hot summer.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2016 Draft. Clear gold. Fluffy white head. Clean crisp refreshment. Lovely grassy hops. Just enough malt sweetness. Really very nice. Underrated.

Final suave. Lata de 330ml - Bruxelas, Bélgica (2/04/2016). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
