Commercial Description:
Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Clear pale pale gold with a large white bubbly head. Aroma is faintly hoppy but has that underlying lager rank, taste is slightly a cut above the rest BUT nothing to shout home about.

0.33l bottle as on the picture. Yellow colour, fizzy, but saved by a big fluffy white head that stays there for a long time. Hmmm. Nice and pleasant malty and hoppy nose. Bad, somewhat odd maltiness covered by some nice, light herbal hopiness. Weak corny (?) fruitiness and cardboard and saltiness show up. One dimensional harsh but extremely short hoppy aftertaste. Not bad, but for almost 3 Euros, this should’ve sung and done tricks.

Grassy hop aroma. Pale golden color with huge white head that laced. Starts a bit sweet. Odd flavor in the middle, but the hop comes forth to cover that error, if error it was. Verges on Pilsener, but the sweetness won’t permit the appellation.

I didn’t expect a pale lager but I guess I should have with the "extra blond" description. Gold color and highly carbonated. Dry. Not bad, almost a pilsner.

Sincerely, I did not liked. One is about a Pilsen with a little less of carbonation and a little more than fruit flavor but, in the deep one, just a Pilsen..................................PORTUGUÊS: Sinceramente, não curti. Trata-se de uma Pilsen com um pouco menos de carbonatação e um pouco mais de sabor frutadinho mas, no fundo, uma Pilsen e só.

Bottled Pale golden. Short white head. Sweet, artificial maltiness. Some alco-feel. Frisk, lätt citrus. Dry and rather grassy, hoppy finish.

A bit pale, reminds me of a weak French bier to look at, except for the big thick fluffy head. Best point actually is the head and head retention). Definitely grassy hops. More flavour that the colour suggested, but nothing outstanding. Glad i got it from Oddbins, Glasgow, to add to my ’portfolio’, but wouldn’t seek it out again (although I wouldn’t refuse it either!)
