Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Een bier met een redelijk sterke doch eenzijdige geur en dito smaak. Erg fris met een bepaalde hopsoort die de smaak bepaalt. Ook speelt de mout een belangrijke rol.

From the bottle poured into glass. Huge ultra stable head. Clear light yellow color. Nose is hay and cereals. Taste is light bitter, crisp and refreshing. Grassy finish. Easy drink and nothing special..

Bottle, 33cl. Pours pale yellow under white head, mostly diminishing. Sweetcorn aroma, hay, grainy, nothing too special. For a lager, though, surprisingly plentiful flavours, if however a bit on the sweet side, with a slightly marked sourness in the finish. Cereal-ish, hay but just a little too sweet. Oilier than your average Eurolager, medium body -particularly decent for a lager- and a rather nice longish finish.

Bottle at home. Aroma of grainy malt, hay, grass, hint of citrus, hint of hops. Flavour is moderate bitter. Body is light to medium. A bit watery and lacking any outspoken characteristics. It is, however, a drinkable and crisp Lager.
