COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary. For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery. These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

Golden with a small white head. Grainy malt with a touch of herbal hops and a bit of DMS. Dry, herbal and reasonably bitter flavour

Aroma: Corn, yeast and bread.

Appearance: Clear pale golden with with a thick white head. Lively carbonation and a good amount of lacing.

Taste: Citrus, straw, cereal and pale malt. Subtle peppery spice on the finish.

Palate: Thin body with a watery texture. Fizzy carbonation.

Overall: Not great - bland and industrial. Certainly the worst Belgian beer I’ve tasted.

Bottle at the Funky Monkey, Brussels. Crap pale lager with a really rough nasty feel. Ick. Makes Jupiler seem like a good beer, which is quite an achievement.

330ml bottle. Pale yellow colour, frothy white head and aroma of malt & grain. Taste is similar, malt and grain, sweetish with a light lingering bitterness. Light bodied, high carbonation. OK lager.

Tasted 13/4/2013 330ml bottle BB 2/2014. Poured a light gold colour with a thin white bubble head that laced OK. Very low carbonation seen as rare small bubbles. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste of sweet malt and no bitterness. Light body. Smooth sweet finish.

Very mild taste, bright color. Not too inviting, but quite surprising for the brightness.

Light lager, taste is average. Enjoyable and drinkable like all lagers, but not in any way interesting or different. There is a nice aspect to this though - the late, late aftertaste is good. Deserves an extra point for that.
