Vedett Extra White has a delicious refreshing taste, surprisingly crisp punctuated with an orange- and lemon like zest, rounded with a mildly bitter taste and dry finish.

Bottle conditioned, 330ml at De Hems, Soho, London. Pale cloudy yellow with white head. Lemon sherbert flavours, sharpish with a musty yeasty note. Simple and easy drinking but not over interesting.

Bottle from a Brussels supermarket. It pours a hazy light lemony liquid, with high white lasting foam. The aroma is of fresh fine wheat, some lemon, herbs, and a little yeast. The taste is not a surprise: wheaty, with light malt presence, and lemon; just like a white beer! The palate is lively, finishing dry and light-medium bitter. Despite being oily and bodied, it tasted light watery. It can be easily distinguished from other Witbiers for its dryness and lack of sweetness. It’s a nice refreshing white; not the best head in town, but quite interesting. PS: it’s weird how it reminds me of Duvel, in spite of being so different a beer style. The bottle is the first warning of the brewer’s label ;-)

Now owned by Moortgat, really nice white beer, seems to be getting hotter and hotter in Amsterdam, not as sweet as Hoegaarden or Wieckse Witte, very soft taste.
