One of the best double IPA I’ve ever drunk. Great, piney and resinous aroma with some delicate malts (caramel especially). Awesome, unique taste of hops and malts - great balance. Bitterness (203 IBU) is quite big, but still very drinkable and refreshing. Great one!

Bardzo ciekawe piwo, aromat mocno owocowy choc w smaku juz niekoniecznie. Smak mocno chmielowy, oblepiajacy z ciekawym posmakiem ktory na dlugo zalega w ustach.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours cloudy golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is weak initially, but gets stronger as it heats up a bit, lovely piny and resiny hops, weak malty sweetness in the background. Crisp and light sticky mouthfeel. Taste is strong lovely resiny and piney hops, good bitter with a light sweet malty backbone, lingering resiny hops, a very good one.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar,Stavanger. Hazy orange colour, low off-white head. Lovely hoppy aroma, notes of tropical fruits, citrus, pine and spruce. Very hoppy flavour, pine and spruce galore on a background of medium sweet malts, also grapefruit. Slightly warming mouthfeel. Excellent!

On tap at Cafe Sara, march 14th 2014. Dark orange body with a low staying white head. Aroma of caramel, peach, pine. Sweet malty taste with citric fruits, medium bitterness softened by the caramel, piney and fruity finish. Quite good, it’s been a while since I had the two captains so it’s hard to compare the two, though I believe this feels a bit less hoppy and sweeter.

Fantastisk dobbel ipa på 8.2% servert på fat hos Larvik Mikrobryggeri. Litt annerledes en two captain muligens litt bedre denne.

On tap @ Kick. Cloudy, deep orange body with a small off-white head. Nice, strong hoppy aroma with citric fruits, pine and caramel. Flavor is caramel malt, citric fruit, pine, some yeast and quite bitter. Fine body and bitter aftertaste. A nice and very refreshing IPA, would be fun to compare with Two Captains one day.
