On tap at Cafe Sara. Misty deep orange with a light brown head. Unrevealing nose hinting at boiled carrots. Earthy, salty bitterness with green apples. Pungent thick hop juice with a long finish and a solid malt base. Medium to full bodied.

Bottle at tasting. Poured a clear black with a slight white head. Aromas were malt heavy. Other marked characteristics were front of tongue bitterness and a foamy sweet nuts taste/aroma. Intriguing

Johnny Low... eh... I mean Betty Brown... eh... Jimmy Red pours a cloudy deep amber body with a beige, long-lived head that ends up as a thin layer, and some remnants on the glass. Moderate aroma of surprisingly dark roasted notes, caramel, hints of generic fruits with some tropical traces, and pine needles. Moderate flavour that follows the aroma, but with even less tropical fruits and more coffee. Moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter taste. Nice and syrupy mouthfeel that goes well with the obvious sweetness, but a bit strange for the style? The malty focus of this one combined with the modest amount of hops makes this close to a failed BIPA. Disregarding my expectations for an amber ale, this is actually a nice brew.

Amber with an off white head - Nice fruity hop aroma - Nice malt body with a good hop profile that is fruity and has a nice bitterness to it - The hop fruityness and some bitterness goes into the finish - This was nice

17.04.2015. 0,5l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Haugesund. Dark brownish colour. Murky and unclear. Whitish head. Aroma of pretty strong dark malts. Sharp beer with a sharp malty finish. Good bitterness that goes very well with the good malts. Rich. Strong. Flavours of dark malts. Notes of sweetness with caramel. Bitterness is pine and spices. Good beer, but its a little stranege, a little out of style also maybe?

Flaske 500ml. Gave fra Rune. Drukket på Rundvannet 24 Mar 15. Mørk brunrød. Veldig uklar. Pent, svakt farget tett skum. Kniplingslacing. Bra ferskenaroma. Smaken er mørke plommer. Blir tørt bitter etter hvert.
