3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6377) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 9, 2013
As Jydske Bryghuse Bourbon Stout at ØK 13, thanks to fonefan for sharing. Dark, almost black coloured body. Decent tan-coloured head. Vanilla oak nose with dark malts. Comprehensive flavour of coffee, oak and liquorice. Bittersweet finish. Tingling alcohol where the semi-dry Jack Daniels taste is present. Pleasing as a sipper (Copenhagen, 25.05.2013).

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 after4ever (5361) - Brier, Washington, USA - FEB 1, 2013
650. Pours jet black with a loose whitish head. Big sharp apricot and vanilla nose. The JD is pretty sharp with this one; a subtler bourbon would push this beer into very nice territory. Creamy thick body with some light chalkiness and soft carb. Dark roast, chocolate, vanilla, some oak and a bit of apricot on the mid palate, leading to a nice chocolate and vanilla finish. Good stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yngwie (10798) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 1, 2012
23. http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/vejle-bryghus-imp tap at ØlFestival 2012. It pours a tan head over an almost black body. Roasted malts, some vanilla, hints of licorice and an alcoholic, boozy touch in the aroma. The flavor is maybe a bit boozy, with pleasant sweetness, some hoppy bitterness and a touch of vanilla. Warming, full-bodied and soft on the palate, with roasted malts in the end. Overall, too boozy and Jack Daniel-ish, but it’s a decent beer anyway. 120510
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fonefan (29525) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 20, 2012

Clear dark brown colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, alcohol - whisky, wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, woody. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120510]

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mcberko (4147) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 26, 2012
Sampled on tap at PIB, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of bourbon and vanilla--very dominating--not much else detectable. Flavour is a HUGE bourbon bomb, dominating everything, with vanilla, bourbon and lots of booze. Ridiculously boozy and barrel-dominating. I prefer the base beer, as the barrels make this even messier.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Borup (3808) - Albertslund, DENMARK - JUL 24, 2012
Draught at DØE. Black with a biege head. Aroma and flavour of chocolate, roasted malt, wood, bourbon, spice and alcohol.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Miksu (4570) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2012
Draught at Copenhagen Ølfestival 2012. Black color. Aromas of green apple and vanilla. Sweet oaky and roasty aroma with lots of vanilla. Chocolate, warming alcohol and also some sharp alcohol in the flavor. This one is too oaky, I very much prefer the cognac version.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 trevor211 (1191) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 10, 2012
On tap at SIBF 2012. Much like both the original and the cognac versions, except with a very definite bourbon presence, lending a bit more booze than either of the other two, and some additional oak/vanilla. This wasn’t my favorite of the three.
