Stopper bottle. Pours deep brown, light tan head lingers a little while. Almost completely lacks hoppiness of any sort. Interesting brew. Faintly sweet burnt chocolate on tongue, almost like Tobblerone or some similar candy I can’t quite put my finger... err tongue on. I liked it. Not extremely complex, fairly dry finish. Inoffensive.

Rated on 01-07-2013 (Flip top bottle) This beer pours a large off-white head with a lengthy retention, transparent golden body, slow rising, fizzy carbonation, and one ring of lacing. This beer’s aroma is caramel malt, sweet and suggestion of spice. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. This beer lacks character and flavor. It is not a beer that entices me to want again.

500ml bottle shared with Finn. Nicely served in ceramic mugs at Bolero Bamberg (we had plastic glass to get the body colour right). Lasting off-white head to an unclear, grey-orange coloured body. Spotty lacing. Sweet fruity smell joined by wheat. Flavours of dark wheat, mid-sweet dough, banana sweetness and a little citrus touch to the ending. Medium bodied. Just alright (12.10.2014).

Wie ein Dunkles Weizen nun sein kann. Etwas derb mit ein paar Früchten, ordentlich Volumen und Perlung - Mund voll, was jedoch eher zum Durchschnitt taugt. Geht so.

Bottle from Dilo in Bochum. The beer pours out in a hazy dark brown colour with steady big head and medium body. Aroma of wheat and bread with some hints of dough. Taste of roasted wheat, malt, barley, bread and yeast. Drinkable and solid Dunkelweizen.

Alpha10 (382) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 2, 2014
2014/10/01 - Pours a hazy amber/brown colour with a creamy beige head that quickly reduces to a surface film. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, toffee, yeast, wheat and mild banana. Taste follows nose; sweet caramel, toffee, bready notes, wheat and slight banana. Mouthfeel is medium to thick and oily with slightly biting carbonation and a moderately sweet finish. Ok, but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Swing top bottle. Hazy amber with a weak head despite medium carbonation. Medium body. Aroma is largely that of a regular hefe but the darker malts show clearly in the flavor.

Hazy light brown color with off white head. Aroma of bread and orange peel. Medium bitterness and sweetness with citrussy flavors from the wheat and yeast. Ok weisbier with a little extra barley malt flavor than light weissbiers.

Transfer from BA review on 1-10-13- Poured from bottle into a weizen glass Appearance –Pours a hazy-murky lighter brown color with a rather thick and creamy tan head. The head has a wonderful level of retention fading very slowly over time to leave a medium level of lacing. Smell- The aroma is quite sweet. It is heavy of a caramel and dark fruit smells with a light roasted brown bread. Other yeasty aromas and aromas of banana and clove are there as well. Taste – The taste begins with a bready and light caramel taste. As the taste advances further flavors of yeast and banana come to the tongue. From there the roastiness of the flavor grows a little bit more toward the middle/end of the taste. At the end flavors of clove and cardamom then come to the tongue, along with a bit of citrus hop, leaving a lightly bittered and spiced bready flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The thickness/creaminess of the beer is on the average to slightly above average side of a brew of 5.4 % , while the carbonation level is very low. The body is decent for the bready and yeasty flavor of the brew, but the very light level of carbonation does not seem to suit the brew well, with a grater carbonation likely giving it a more refreshing flavor as well as being good for the spice and sweeter flavors of the taste. Overall- Ah… it was alright, but nothing too special here. The taste was fairly balanced, but the mouthfeel was a little off. Not one I would likely go back too. While I would not go back to it I would say that is at least worth one try for anyone who has not had it.

500 ml. swingtop that appears to be best by 2009. Pours a nearly opaque darkish brown with a lasting creamy film. Big aroma of spicy banana bread, caramel, toasted walnut and maybe some dry grass and nutmeg. Taste is the same rich goodness with a touch of sourish, lemony yeast and tart apple to help balance the big malty flavors. Slightly bigger than light body is soft and sweet but finishes with a delicate balance.
