Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

500ml swing top. It pours a slightly darker than usual gold with a foamy white head that leaves nice lacing as it recedes. There is an off-scent in the smell, not sure what to think of it. The flavor is decent. It is nutty, bready, and crackery. The hops provide a slight bit of depth. Overall it is a really plain beer, not exactly typical Frankisch quality.

500 mL swingtop from Total Wine West Richmond. Pours a slightly hazy very pale yellow color with a creamy white head. Good head retention. Grainy aroma with some sweet malts, toastiness and floral hops. The taste is sweet malts, grassy hops, grainy notes and a bit of nuttiness. Thin bodied.

Test vom 9.3.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,9,13,11,11 - 10,80

Bottle @ Bamberg. Pours clear yellow with a fluffy white head and lacings. Nose is grass and grain. Quite strong and offensive. Medium bodied. A hint of cooked vegetables. Ends dry. Pretty average!

Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some bread, faint grassy hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty and sweetish flavor, faint hoppyness, some alcohol and bread. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish, alcohol. Malty lager, alcohol in the finish, quite one-dimensional.

500 ml flip-top bottle. Pale yellow in color with a white head. Malty aroma, clean tasting. Good malty flavor with some hop bitterness. Enjoyable beer, nothing special.

Got this one from a BIF on BA. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Nose is malt, corn, sweetness, slight honey quality, and a twinge of hops. Flavor is similar with a good sweetness, a mild malt quality, and a hint of hops with a teeny lager finish. I could keep drinking this...

What context are these reviews supposed to be from? The Veldensteiner beer, when in Germany is going to taste a lot better than the Veldensteiner you get in the states. When I drank it in Germany it was the best tasting beer I have ever had. However, I am pretty sure they add preservatives to all export beer since it has to stay fresh longer. This will definitely affect the taste.
