3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 asheft (2264) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 4, 2010
[bottle]
Sweet hay aroma with some nice, very fresh base malt and pleasant noble hops. Clear straw appearance with a thin, white cover on top. Sweet base malt that is a touch soapy and sort of weak, but still gentle and with some herbal noble hops. Light body, medium carbonation, gentle bitter ending.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 keepersj12 (2242) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Lack of aroma keeps the score down for this beer although it is quite nice. Pours a clear light amber with a small head. The only bit of aroma I get is some caramel. The flavor has all of what you would expect of a good German Pilsner. Nice clean finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 corby112 (2214) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Large streaks and chunks of soapy lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with spicy hops, grass and straw countered by bready yeast, light fruit and pale malt. Some sticky pine needle followed by some apple, pear and pilsner malt.
Medium bodied with a crisp, spicy hop bite that lingers over the sweeter notes and pale malts into a dry finish. A decent amount of dry, earthy bitterness that dominates the flavor. Hints of grass and straw countered by some light fruit, bread, biscuit and pilsner malt. There’s a subtle metallic presence that lingers after the finish hurting the drinkability a bit. A bit hopper than expected but pretty standard.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 heavy (1956) - Split, CROATIA - MAR 30, 2010
18/03 0.5 l fliptop bottle. It pours pale yellow body with medium sized head. Lemony hop aroma, some vegetable malty notes. Flavor is fine though, has fine herbal bitterness and weaker honey and biscuit malt. It’s medium bodied with nice bitterish finish. Simple, but not bad at all for my taste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 glennmastrange (1884) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - NOV 19, 2009
Bottle. Light aromas of straw, dried grass and a hint of pepper. Head is small, frothy/bubbly white with thin but good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Flavor starts lightly acidic, and is followed by a long, faintly sweet and acidic and a lightly bitter finish. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation. Not very complex like most Classic German Pilseners, but this was an easy drinker.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Grima (1857) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 11, 2012
Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Kristall-König (1843) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - SEP 14, 2011
