Somewhat spongy malt aroma with some bittering hops. Greenish golden, low fluffy lacing white head. Sweet crackermalt topped off with a bit bittering hops, light body - nothing exiting. Light bitterhop finish.

#1100 Was Fredl Fesl da geritten hat? Keine Ahnung. Swing-top bottle. Sweet, lemon and chalk nose, there’s a really pleasant floral and ländlich aspect to the yeast, a little hard for me to get at, but it reminds me more of Zwickl and Landbier. Pours a sickly brown-golden with a dense, creamy and lacing bright white head. Taste is almost sickly sweet and herbal, again pushing toward vegetal character, chalky and slightly grainy water and malt, some yeast. Dusty, husky, and mealy, with a character somewhere between liquified old library book pages and the rotted-out glue that once bound them. Crisp light-medium body, does refresh but is sure to raise the eyebrows.

Fra fat på Bolero, Bamberg 12 Okt 14. Strågul. Lavt tett skum. Aroma av malt. Smaken litt metallisk med hint av frukt. Svakt syrlig tørr ettersmak.

Bottle 50cl. w. swing top.
Clear light to medium yellow color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, cardboard. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20081122]

Hazy, light gold with a frothy white head. Lemon, floral aroma. Taste is a floral bitter....and little else. Musty, thin....maybe a little old. Not exactly pleasant.

Draught at Bolero Bamberg, thanks to Finn for sharing. Clear golden coloured body. Tiny, but lasting white head. Faint grass and pale malts on the nose. Moderate taste profile of buttery malts and grassy hops, rather sweet. Oily palate. Soft carbonated. Okay pilsener (Bamberg 12.10.2014).

I do not know what it is about these German beers but so many of them have this off flavor that reminds me of artificial grape. This one had a good deal of that. +++ Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very pale yellow color with a huge soapy white head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was faintly tart and tangy with notes of lemon, sourdough bread and a touch of artificial grape. The flavor was tangy lemon, artificial grape, sugar and bread. The finish was long and tangy with notes of lemon and grape lingering. Light body. Unimpressive.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with light notes of metal, soap, DMS. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic. Starts out on the right foot with a sizable head, but alas, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Grainy, metallic, soapy notes detract from the hop nose, so it ends up smelling pretty industrial. Not much better in the mouth...bland with a husky and metallic aftertaste. Poor.
