Swing top bottle. Light grassy aroma. Hoppy, grassy flavor. Just below medium bodied. Fine traditional German pilsener.

50cl swingtop - clear golden, fizzy beer, with a foamy, rapidly shrinking head that settles to a decent lace - aroma of grassy hops, floral notes, sweet malts, a strange vegetal quality, and a light mineral character - honey sweet at first, but an herbal/floral kick and medium hop bitterness creep in to balance that out pretty nicely - there is a bit of a chalky feel on the back end, and the hops don’t really bite like I want them to in a pils, but this is a decent beer.

Bottle. Pours a chardonnay colored body with a thin white head. Earth and apple aroma with some light paper tones and spices. A clean crisp earth y toned body with a spritz y carbonation and a bittersweet grain finish. Decent pils.

American Beer Distro ($4): Pours a pale gold with a head that is as good as a German pilsener typically has. Aroma of grassy German hops. Taste is somewhat bitter, but only as much as the style gets and even less so. There is a veritable malt backbone, as thin as it might be. Very German, refreshing and nice. Oh how I love pilseners.

[bottle] Sweet hay aroma with some nice, very fresh base malt and pleasant noble hops. Clear straw appearance with a thin, white cover on top. Sweet base malt that is a touch soapy and sort of weak, but still gentle and with some herbal noble hops. Light body, medium carbonation, gentle bitter ending.

Swingtop from Half Time. Pours orange tinged gold with a 3 finger foamy near-white head. Aroma is very lightly bready with a good dose of grassy hop. Flavor is mildly bready, and quite clean. The grassy hop cuts the malt well. Going down great at the end of a hot day.

500ml brown flip-top bottle. It pours a clear, light gold with a foamy white head that dissipates fairly quickly, but it does leave some nice lacing. The smell is pretty subdued, it has a very earthy scent, not much clarity in the hops or malt. The flavor continues the earthy theme, this bottle is probably old unfortuneately. Fliptop bottle from Beers of Europe poured into a pint glass. Golden lager with little fizz and a shaving cream head if not poured carefully. Very malty aroma, a little overpowering. Malty, slightly bitter taste, better than expected. A hint of nuts and has a certain sweetness. Quite fresh and nice.

Pours yellow-gold with a 3 finger, fluffy bright white head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is full of cereeal grain, floral and spicy hops, a bit of bready yeast and sweet hay. Flavor is more cereal grain, light fruitiness, floral and light spicy hops, a little too much malty sweetness and light planty hops. Palate is light bodied with a lightly creamy entry, moderate strength carbonation and off dry, slightly chalky finish. Decent Pils overall, a little on the sweet and fruity side though.
