leaparsons (3802), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jun 27, 2008 Bottle. Light gold with a small head. Aromas are grain with floral notes and a strange "pong". Flavours are biscuit malts with grain and citrus. Grassy and crisp. roder_60 (789), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy dark yellow color with large amount of very froathy white head. Aroma is of sweet grass. Flavor is very sweet and malty. Heavier mouthfeel, bit of honey. Minimal hops. Overall, pretty decent. notalush (1971), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA May 24, 2008 50cl swingtop - clear golden, fizzy beer, with a foamy, rapidly shrinking head that settles to a decent lace - aroma of grassy hops, floral notes, sweet malts, a strange vegetal quality, and a light mineral character - honey sweet at first, but an herbal/floral kick and medium hop bitterness creep in to balance that out pretty nicely - there is a bit of a chalky feel on the back end, and the hops don’t really bite like I want them to in a pils, but this is a decent beer. kramer17801 (1846), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA May 14, 2008 500 ml bottle. Pours a a clear straw yellow body with a nice two finger fizzy white head that slowly gained density. The nose is grassy hops with crusty bread pils malt and just a slight tinge of sulfur. Crisp flavor with a good bit of grassy hops and light bready maltiness. A bit of a carbonic bite on the finish and some lingering light bitterness. Light bodied and crisp with sturdy biting carbonation. Overall, this was a damn decent German Pilsener. So far 2 for 2 from these guys. At just a buck a bottle, it looks like I’m going to have a very Veldensteiner summer!
