(Bottle on 2009-02-07) Dark brown and cloudy. Medium sized and quite quickly disappearing white head. Malts and light smokiness in aroma. Full bodied palate with medium carbonation. Malts, fresh malts, caramell, smoke and hint of dark chocoate in taste. Smoke and bitterness in aftertaste.

Coppery reddish with a light tan ting. Lightly smoked. Toasty. Lighter caramel malt. Light clean body with low carbonation. Clean light smokey malt. Light toast. Very clean. Lightly fruity. Very little smoke in this smoked beer, but not deeply flawed.

This poured a gold with a lot of carbonation looking into the glass and a small white head. This may have been burnt or smoked but not too much. This was watery for this type as this is my favorite type of beer right now. On the weak side.

Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a crisp bright golden brown color. Aromas of peat, smoke, and vegetables. Flavor is metallic vegetable tasting. Not a lot of Rauch in this one compared to the Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen.

Bottle. Light smoky (woos), sweet, liquor, malty. A rather small off-white creamy head, rather fast disappearing. A very dark red body. The first taste is like burned wood, strange bitter taste, average duration. Medium body, dry, soft carbonation. Not my kind of beer...

sebletitje (6777) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 9, 2008
50cl bottle. Pours brownish dark with a light brownish head. Aroma is lightly smokey and caramel. Taste is filled with smokiness and malt, leaving a tingly feeling on the tongue and palate. Lightly hoppy, aftertaste is light, smokey and roasted. I was really impressed by the body of this beer. While I am not a huge fan of the strong rauch style, this beer had a lot of postive points to it.

Bottle from Berlin. Pronounced smokiness, but the beer as such is a bit thin. Nice lingering smoky finish.

Bottled. Hazy amber colour, fluffy big off-white head. Aroma is smoked wood, saltwater along with some berries and sweet malts. Flavour is leather, smoked notes as well as some slight sweet malts and yeast. Very pleasant.

0.5 l bottle. Hazy amber brown color with small head. Sweet, woody, smoky and berryish aroma. Dryer smoky and berryish flavor. Tarry and smoky finish. I’m a fan of smoked beers but this one has a yeasty note and the smokiness is kind of dirty and dull. Well, according to the label, Mario Bros seems to be enjoying it.
