Pours a cloudy golden orange color with straw yellow edges and a two finger frothy, pillowy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks and large spots of soapy lacing left behind. Spicy aroma with a prominent clove presence that’s countered by bready yeast, banana and citrus rind. The yeast character is really strong ith lots of bread and banana that overpowers the spice and orange peel notes. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a zesty spice flavor that lingers over the yeast, banana and citrus notes into a slightly dry, tart finish. Strong clove presence up front that’s quickly countered by prominent bread and banana notes. Tart orange peel sweetness in the finish. Overall this is an average example of the style. It has all of the traditional characteristics but the bread/banana/yeast presence is too strong for my preference overpowering the other flavors.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), with notes of plaster and banana. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Par for the course for the Veldensteiner line, but a hunk o’ junk compared to the rest o’ the world.

Flip top bottle at Apfelhaus "festival" (nr Sibiu). Nice amber thick with ice cream head in the brewery’s branded glass. Smells sweet, bordering on candylike, with lots of caramelized fruit. Heavy yeast in the palate, feeling tacky on the tongue and yet nourishing at the same time. Floral and vanilla notes complement the ripe fruit overload.

A solid hefe, though a little light. A tad thin maybe but refreshing. There are many better and many worse.

Fairly average example of the style. Pours a hazy amber with a frothy white head that diminishes quickly. A fruity aroma that also has a bit of bread and hay. The flavor has a bit of fruit, some spice, a hint of banana. The finish is dry. A little thin . Not bad.

Pours hazy gold with a tall, creamy, chunky off white head that has great retention. Aroma is mostly sharp, bready yeast, citrus peel and floral hops, light cereal grain, tree fruit and vanilla in there as well. Flavor is again, very bready-extremely sharp yeast bready, some citrus, raw wheaty grain, floral and planty hops. Palate is medium bodied, very creamy on the palate throughout and has a slightly dusty, heavy feel along with that. Not bad, a little overly intense on the yeast side though.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6725) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 4, 2012
Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy vibrant apricot color with a huge fluffy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sourdough bread, lemon, clove, honey and a hint of banana. The flavor was sourdough bread, orange, honey and banana. The finish was long with bread and orange lingering. Fairly full bodied. Solid.

Pours orange deep cloudy, with white rocky head. Aromas are banana, vanilla, berries. Palate is thin, medium bodied and fizzy, watery carbonation lively, crispy. Taste is sweet, wheaty, with notes of orange and dryness. Finish is medium long, fruity with plums and mild end. Average Weissbier, mild, and thinly textured.
