Bottled (Beerangel, BB 10/2009). Mostly clear yellow-orange color, good cloudy white head. A bit wheaty, rubbery and grainy aroma. Banana, grains, bubblegum, quite light palate. Crisp finish with spicey note. Plain, standard weizen - drinkable, but below par.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Hazy yellowish orange colour with mediumsized white fluffy head. Aroma is fudge, wheat, spices, very mild banana and some yeast. Flavour is caramel, wheat, yeast and some slight fruity notes. Aftertaste is rubbery and yeasty. Aroma works somehow, but the flavour is just not my thing. Crisp carbonation.

50 cL bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a creamy and white head. Mild wheaty aroma, light yeasty. Flavour is mild acidic and yeasty estery. Citric/orangy base flavour with a light creamy wheat texture and flavour. Ends light acidic and fruity.

Swing top bottle. Orange blonde color. Tangerine in the aroma. Banana and tangerine in the flavor. The emphasis is on fruit. Refreshing hefe weizen.

Bottle. Mild buttery nose but has some sugared fruit and candy notes. Flavor is mostly sweet and light lemon and sugared wheat... some sweet lemon takes over the butter characteristics with time and temperature, improving the overall experience. Not terrible, and certainly drinkable.

1/2 liter bottle with a cheerful label and a swing-top. One rater said it was worth a buck a bottle. Well, I paid four. Heck, the reusable bottle alone is probably worth a buck. Plush, billowing head and cloudy liquid. The aroma has some macro-style nastiness in it. The taste is corny and sweet for a weisse. This is more like something forgettable from Eastern Europe than a first-rate Deutsche weisse. The addition of lime helps a bit, but this is still a mediocre brew. Nice bottle, tho.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 7, 2008
Dark yellow colored with hazy appearance. Huge yellow head. Grains are surprisingly strong here in aroma, banana and yeast also here. Slight burnt rubber tone also comes up. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor has also this disturbing rubber note, still grains and banana come up. Aftertaste does not change to much.

A drinkable hefe. This tasted more like an American attempt than a true German offering. Aroma was weak. Could pick up some pepper and wheat but that’s about it. Pour was a boring light gold with a 2 finger white head but no bubbles and not very cloudy. Taste was a tad fruity with some yeast and a clove aftertaste. Not much carbonation or bite/tartness of a good hefe.

500 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy dark gold body with a perfect fluffy and fizzy white head that when the entire bottle was poured into my Sierra Nevada Wheat glass it filled it perfectly. Maybe a little dull in color, with some amber hues creeping in. The nose is just what I expect, fruity esters of banana, clove, and light pepper. A good amount of bready wheat and fluffy yeast as well. The flavor is a little thin, with a somewhat watery taste. Lighter than expected on the banana and clove, it’s more lemony and wheaty than the average Hefe. The focus seems clearly on the wheat as opposed to the yeast byproducts. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with just the slightest doughy stickiness on the finish. Fizzy soft active carbonation. Overall, maybe not a top tier Hefe, it’s certainly drinkable and enjoyable. Worth the buck a bottle admission.

Swing Top Bottle: Poured a lemony yellow color with a medium sized head. The aroma was fruity with hints of bananas and oranges. The flavor was very smooth with fruit and yeast present. Not a strong Hefe by any means, but an easy drinking refreshing one indeed.
