2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
poured from a 5 liter mini-keg, so no light and no oxidation. cloudy dull orange-colored body with a tall white head with lasting retention and thick lacing. in a croc it actually smells decent (hay / grass noble hops with mild juiciness; doughy, soft yeast; wheat and pale malt cereal character), but in a less-forgiving glass there’s all sorts of problems. the yeast is metallic and gamey (wet dog hair, ugh) and _very_ banana-heavy, and the hops wet / moldy while the malt is muddled and sourish. carbonation is low and creamy; muddy wheat / wort malt flavor; medium sweetness; low bitterness; medium-low acid; somewhat flabby body. well, it had potential right at the beginning, but a glassware change exposed this one as very much like the rest of the Veldensteiner line: unclean and yeasty with weak, flabby malt. the positives here are that the yeast does not taste like it smells; instead it’s creamy and doughy and seems to mute the malt and hops enough that it works as a "simple, sweet, yeasty German-type lager".

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Vottle pours a hazy brownish-orange with big white head and some lacing. Aroma is full of lemon, bread, and grass. Taste is Lemony/grassy at first, sweet in the middle, and ends up with a dry finish. Body is light to medium with average carbonation. Mouthfeel is slightly oily. A very good if somewhat obscure session beer in a style I’ll have to check out more often.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle shared by greg, pours a clear light brown with a very thin white head, the aroma is sweet with a little bit of malt but nothing really stands out, the flavor is light on the malt and has a little bit of bread and yeast in the finish, pretty sweet but the flavor just doesn’t come through, meh.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From notes: Poured hazy straw color with a slight orange tinge and a 3-finger white head. Aroma is lemony, with light undertones of grass and yeast. Body is light, but a touch oily, with a dry finish. Lemony flavor up front, giving way to a sweetness from the malt syrup or honey that lingers in the finish. A touch of biscuity yeast as well.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light aroma of sweet toasted bread. Golden color with slight haze, small white head. Creamy entry gives way to a little zip then finishes dry. Toasted bread, hay, bisquit notes. Light carbonation , good with sausages to whipe pallet clean.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500mL bottle. Poured medium golden-orange with a creamy, well-retained white head. The aroma picked up toasted honey and rice with light herbal and detergenty accents.. very "organic" feel to it.. OK. The flavor found more adjuncty sweetness and a touch of wheat at the core.. light orange and herbal bitterness plus sharp carbonation around.. finished with an odd sticky sharpness.. this was an odd brew, and I wasn’t a huge fan.
