This beer was known as one of the first Croatian microbrewery products, produced in a small brewery in a town of Pazarište, near Gospić in Croatian mountain region, famous for its clear spring water, which is also used in production of this brew. It was considered as one of the best Croatian beers, due to the fact it wasn’t pasteurized and produced in small amounts, being also rare and hard to find until fairly recently. Quality of this beer fell with use of additives for preservation so now it tastes more similar to macro Dunkels. Nevertheless, it is still good. I’ve had it many times since 2005, but I’m only rating it now. Pours dark brown with orange tint and quickly diminishing beige head. Weak aroma of malts and nuts, you won’t notice it if the beer is to cold. Medium body, but a full malty taste, not many hops here, low carbonation, well balanced. Ends with a dry finish. Highly recommended.

DWFID; Bottle 0,33l. Pours a moderate, somewhat lasting, lots of lacing tan head. Nose is roasted malt, coffee, light caramel, dark fruit and spice. Taste is moderate sweet and light bitter with a somewhat lasting burned caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, almost avarage. Drunk at Rock Cafe.

330ml bottle, thanks to Geiserich. Pours dark brown with a pleasant dark caramel fudge aroma. Vanilla fudge hints in the taste, slowly fading with a very light roasted character coming through. Surprisingly tasty this.

Bosnia so far has offered me tasty yet light lagers... but over the border and oh my! Hello taste buds! I first met Velebitsko Tamno Piva; Chestnuts and woodsy aromas for the scent, creamy yet heavy on the first sip with hints of hazelnut, smoke, dark but bitter chocolate, and maybe loco rice and pecans? I don't get too excited about too many beers but my second bottle (feeling it at 6.0%) prompted me to give it a high score and a huge thumbs up. --- Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone by sIGHTnOISE
