Crisp, clean, classic German lager

Dead simple beer but one that held quite a bit of appeal. No surprises in terms on appearance and bouquet; classic medium gold in colour, thin head, and old fashion some hoppy nose with daggy malts. Sharper to taste with the hop component clearly more assertive. Gets progressively drier and bitter as the beer travels through the palate. A great gardening beer for summer.

(in Can - Supermarket in Chile). Has a very good golden color, with some sparkles green. The cord is just and white. In the aroma it highlights the good hop, with something (very little) of herbs. The flavor is fine, but with the bitter successful well finish, good!. In the palate it is something light and of few texture, but the end is of a dry bitterness, which reminds the malt. It is of the best pilsener that I have drink from Germany. As soon as you drink it, you will return to do it.

Not the bitterness I crave out a German Pils. 475 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and only 225 of his Classic 500 Brews to go.

Embrouille (2831) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 8, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2007 Pale golden head. Aromas of lemon, some bread. Buttery touch. Metallic, strong and agressive malty taste. Some notes of lemon. Medium-bodied. Fairly sweet. Nothing really complex about this pilsener. Grassy, fairly dry finish. Not particullary interesting or good, but not bad either.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2008 Golden with lite head. Notes of orange and malts in the aroma. Notes of sweet malts and citrus in body. Very smooth front to finish, with a refreshing full flavour.

Bottled. Hazy pale golden, brief head. Papery nose. Dryish with clean mouthfeel and ligt body. Grassy hops mixes with metal. Medium bitterness. Dry and crisp as a pils should be, but the metal and paper prevents me from enjoying it.

11.2oz - Williams F1 sponsor, so i had to try it out. Fairly pedestrian German lager, bast of hops after smooth malt. Indistinguishable.

Bottle. Light golden colour with a nice big mostly diminishing white head. Grassy and malty aroma with some hoppiness. Flavour is nice and crispy, some maltiness, bit grassy with bitter hops. Dry finish with some bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2008 Bottle 0.33 / 0.5 l. Tried it out yesterday and sadly cannot say anything about it. Nothing stuck in my mind about this beer. Have to try it again. Re-rate: Quite harsh grassy bitterness. A bit rude, not my favourite pils. Re-rate #2 (orig 2.6): Taste changes, now I find this very attractively hoppy, yet maybe a bit unbalanced.
