Pours a deep mahogany red - rather clear. A small fizzy off white head soone disappears. Aroma is malty sweet, dominated by caramel, toffee and a herbal touch. Medium body. Flavour is lightly sweet with caramel dominating and a light dry ashy finish. Nice bock! MiP (5021), Flensburg, Germany Feb 26, 2008 Bottle, 7.0%. Sweet and malty aroma, brown sugar. Seemingly clear shiny reddish chestnut colour. Small head, almost white. The flavour is quite powerful, starts off with a little anis, then turns very malty with a good alcohol punch. The bitterness is a little rough, but all in all a good beer. Quite close to a German doppelbock, not among the best, but not the worst either.
