Apples are picked by hand, crushed, briefly steeped, pressed (vertical hydraulic press and pressed only once), allowed to ferment at low temperature, becoming naturally effervescent in sealed tanks without the addition of any sugar.

“A light-alcohol cider (2.5 degrees) with an intense bouquet of fresh apples, slightly sweet and sparkling, it has a flavor just as pervasive as its aroma”, according to wine critic Jacques Benoît.

Peu alcoolisé, au bouquet intense de pomme fraîche, il a des saveurs franches, toutes aussi pénétrantes que ses odeurs.

Bottle sampled at Mondial 2015 with Linh, Ken and Nica. Pours a clear white body with frothy foamy head. Moutheel is thin, dry and lightly tart with notes of green apple skins, fresh grass, white wine and a faint perfume character. Very interesting, but in comparison to some stellar ice ciders, this one takes the back seat hard.

>> Should be a Doux cider, but doesn’t come across as that. This one has almost nothing in common with its Rose counterpart. Clear white pour with soda foam. Odd, leafy nose- raw green apple and grass. Taste brings green apple and white wine acid, almost no sugar surprisingly. Strange that their 2.5% ciders aren’t sweet at all. Not sure how they accomplish this. This one is quite simple and pricey, so wasn’t the type of thing I was after in ice cider land, those the Rose version was pretty yum.

[5247-20130425] Bottle. Intense MacIntosh apple influence on the aroma with a touch of musty old barrel. Clear, light white yellow body with a quick bubbly white head. More Mac apples in the flavour with a nice lasting finish. Medium body. Interesting musty notes throughout. (7/4/7/4/16) 3.8

2013-04-25. Yellow body, musty apple skin aroma. 6+ Sweetish flavour, fruity, relatively mild but impressive for such a low abv product. Average to light bodied palate. Enjoyable. Bottle, sampled at the cidery

Bottle. With a cork that shot right out with such force that I’m surprised there is not a dent in my ceiling. Pours a clear light straw spun gold with a soft white head while pouring, which disappears immediately. Sweet apples on the nose, sugar dipped and fresh. Medium bodied with big thick carbonation, but not biting at all, just mouthfilling. Sweet fresh apples, crisp and clean. Lovely tartness, like a sharp green apple, piquant and tangy. Long gentle acid on the finish. Super easy drinking.

750ml bottle. Vey light pale golden pour, big bubbly head, disapeared quickly. Fresh macintosh aroma, sugary, and sweet, with some floral honey notes. Slightly tart, very refreshing, quite nice.

Sampled from the bottle. Poured a clear slightly pale yellow with lots of visible carbonation. Aroma was full of very sweet apples and was slightly sugary. Flavor was sweet apples as well, it began a bit syrupy but seemed to smooth in the finish. The finish was a bit less sweet as well.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow sparkling cider with lots of bubbles. Aroma of light sweet apple juice. Taste is very refreshing with some sweet apple and subtle acidic ending. I was surprised by level of taste considering the pale color and the low ABV. Good stuff!

Strong sweet/tart apple aroma has a fair mustiness to it. Clear and very pale with a fizzy white, champagne-like effervescence. Pleasant balance between sweet juice and tart apple skins with a light acidity in the very dry finish. Refreshingly strong, fine-bubbled carbonation tickles the tongue. Very tasty, especially considering the low ABV. Bottle (Metro Joanette, Apr. 2005).
