It turns out that I am immature and filthy-minded enough to buy a beer just because it almost has a funny name - God knows there’s really little else to recommend it appearance-wise. The label looks real cheap and frankly Greek beer doesn’t have the best reputation. Despite all this it’s actually quite a nice beer. It probably has enough malt character to warrant classification as a Helles, really. Nice spaghetti, biscuity, German-style maltiness in the aroma. More light biscuity fresh malt flavour with only enough hop to balance. Pretty light-bodied but it works well. Simple but really drinkable, though even VB tastes good after playing bball.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Hazy blond color. It has a light cereals aroma, and light cereals flavor too, with light citrusy touch; but some of this is probably due to the age. Poor.

In Greece there are 4 Grand Breweries that brew for massive consumption. Generally these beers are not something special... or to be more clear ...these beers are almost water. So that’s the reason you could find them cheap. Vergina premium lager is for me the best of all these beers. An average lager but not water.
