2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 EchoShine (32) - Athens, - AUG 18, 2012Have had a few times. some banana and orangy. Carb is there which helps the bubbly medium head that sticks around awhile. You can’t help to think just a tad bit watered down.... its almost you are looking for something to tease on this Greek beer. but then the beer marches on and with a great enjoyable finish. The 5.4 alc is nice and helps with the taste. There is something not meshing on the palete that I can’t place right now.. with come back to this and maybe adjust rating. if 2.8 is a C+ then great! maybe C++

Bottled. An unclear yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of cloves, wheat, and a bit of banana. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat, banana, and some cloves, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body, with a large head that stays until I finish my glass. Classic hefe yeasty aroma, along with some basement aromas, and a little spicy. Light yeasty and bitter taste. Light to medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, light bitter and dry finish. Not the best weisse, but a good try.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - AUG 6, 2011
Draught. Hazy tan colour. Fairly sizable, frothy head. Fruity aroma has a decent amount of malt as well as light fruity, gooseberry-type notes. Tiny bit of pedio. Not a particularly clean beer but you wouldn’t call it dirty either. I actually liked it a bit better on tap - fresh-tasting with less pedio. Score is for tap.

Bottle. Having side by side with Weihenstephaner. Is about the same color. Smells like overripe tree fruit, overripe loquat. Not banana. Sightly socky. Finishes nice with minty hops, I like that. Nutty malts. Not bad at all.
