Bottle at home. Aroma of ripe dark fruits, plum, yeasty notes, some chocolate, hint of liquorice, some alcohol. Flavour is medium sweet with a hint of tartness. Slightly boozy. Body is medium to full. Peculiar "Belgian Stout", a bit strong sweet boozy but fairly enjoyable.

sample from bottle at beer bloggers conference family brewers meal
rich roasty, cocoa, coffee, full bodied, sticky, yeast esters, very much a Belgian attempt at a stronger dry stout, very different from Guinness foreign extra in that its geared more towards the dark malts than sugars, more a digestif than dessert drink

Bottle at home. Pours a deep red color with a two-finger beige head. Aroma of malt and fruits. Taste is of roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, spices and various darker fruits. Sweet with a slightly dry and bitter finish. A bit tart too. Good body if a bit watery (the 9% taken into consideration) and average carbonation. Not bad...but I’d hoped for more from this.

From a 33 cl bottle. Pours a cloudy cola brown with an off white head. Aroma of ripe plums. Flavors of licorice. Tasty.

This one sports a sasparilla body, topped by a decent head. Aroma of molasses, anise, and roast barley deliver a moderate complexity. The body is sweet, with candi notes, some root beer, and perhaps even bubblegum. The finish contains a touch of skunk cabbage. A uniquely Belgian stout.

ASPETTO: nera, praticamente impenetrabile. Schiuma decisamente abbondante e di color nocciola, fine e persistente. AROMA: fresco, liquoroso, tostato, floreale. Molto particolare e intenso.

Bottle, like a cross between a Dubbel and a Plum Stout . Cocoa, gravy and plum on the nose, dry-sweet and faintly tart with a roasty choc and wine edge. Delicious.

Bottled@Delirium Café, Brussels. Black colour, mediumized beigeish brown head. Aroma is bigtime diacetyl, some roasted malts, toffee and butter scotch. Flavour is big time butter scotch with some berries, mild wooden notes along with some yeasty notes to it. With the yeast in the butter scotch wasn’t as disturbing.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway, on order. Black color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; malty, licorice, dried fruits, cherry and nice yeast influence. Medium/ full body & complexity. Some sourness and bitterness- balances very well. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl. bb 2016-05-05. Opaque ebony with a thin disc of foam on top. Nose is tart berry and light funk with a bit of espresso and cream. Taste is the same plus some oxidized apple and red wine. Finish shows some milk chocolate and earthy mineral. Near-medium body is smooth and wispy and has a good balance. I think this was a bit infected.
