Aroma has some caramel sweetness and is also a bit soapy. Flavour has some bittersweet treacle but overall the balance is too sweet.

Bottle @ home. Almost black with a big and lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt, caramel and dried fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish. Oily. 180313

Bottle: Bigger sized vast and thick, slowly settling down, ashy beige foamy head. Changes into a sticky fluffy head/lacing on top of a deep dark blackish colored beer with a ruby shine. Aromas of bay leaf, roasted autumnal herbs, liquorice, roast, butter scotch, toffee, prunes, butter, hint of caramel and coal. Flavours of bitters, roasted malts, bay leaf, bitter toffee, floral hop bitters, roast, oatmeal, brown sugars, hints of spices, anise, coal, caramel and herbs. Aftertaste is a mix of bay leaf, grass and some floral roast tones, some malts and thicker autumnal herbs. Low carbo, soft oily close to silky mouthfeel, good medium body and a thick creamy texture. Balanced beer but just a tiny bit dull with a strong bay leaf/liquorice taste. And there’s no trace of alcohol. Well done!

Draught. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark red amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Light yeasty notes. Light bitter flavor. Week metallic notes. Average light bitter finish. lacks roast. Oily palate. Strange brew.

Tap @ den tatoverede enke. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are caramel, roast malt, chocolate and hops. A little on the sweet side.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. bbe 28.04.2013.
Pours dark red color with medium sized head. The cap has left a ring of rust on the bottle. Aroma of honey, licorice, quite strong cellar aroma, ripe fruit and grass. Flavour of oat, some licorice, dark roasted malts, mild caramel and earth, some yeast notes appear also. Quite interesting brew.

Bottle at home. Pours black with a big fluffy powder like beige head. The aroma is chocolate, dark ripe fruits, spices and has a tart side note. The flavour is dark fruity with lighter notes of roasted malt and chocolate. Some bitter acidic yeasty notes in the finish.

0,33l bottle at Tuulensuu. Pours very dark red with a medium thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and some fruits. Flavor is roasted malts, some coffee and some alcohol. Quite nice.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of dark candy sugar, toffee, tobacco, earthiness, light fruittiness and a hint of spice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of toffee, tobacco, earthiness and fruittiness with a crisp lingering tobacco finish.

Good stout but not exceptional. Black/brown colour, medium carbonation. Sweet, bitter and a bit watery.
