On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway, on order. Black color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; malty, licorice, dried fruits, cherry and nice yeast influence. Medium/ full body & complexity. Some sourness and bitterness- balances very well. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl. bb 2016-05-05. Opaque ebony with a thin disc of foam on top. Nose is tart berry and light funk with a bit of espresso and cream. Taste is the same plus some oxidized apple and red wine. Finish shows some milk chocolate and earthy mineral. Near-medium body is smooth and wispy and has a good balance. I think this was a bit infected.

33 cl bottle @ Delirium Café. BBE 10.02.2017. Aroma has strong butterscotch tones and some diacetyl. Feels English. Flavour has very strong butterscotch, some bush leaves and herbs. Also licorice. Like an English stout with some herbs added. Not my thing, becomes unpleasant after some sips.

Aroma is bandaid, paint and a hint of Belgian yeast. The flavor is fruit/citrus, bandaid, malts and a mix of tart and slight sweetness in the finish.

This pours a dark brown/black color with a foamy light brown head. The aroma is slightly tart and sour. The taste is bold, flavorful and unique as it seems like a milk stout mixed with a sour beer. Rather interesting to give a try.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours near black with a thick tan head and a smoky treacle aroma. There is a hearty dark molasses flavor with a little yeast ester and a dry slightly bitter finish.

Ernest (6727) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2015
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (non-opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain, molasses), with notes of creosote, car tire, cherry. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A somewhat unpleasant phenolic nose starts thing off on the wrong foot for me, but I could see some folks liking those notes. Fairly sour and dirty in the mouth, and of course the same phenols are strong in the retronasal aroma as well. Not enjoyable at all.
