Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of dark candy sugar, toffee, tobacco, earthiness, light fruittiness and a hint of spice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of toffee, tobacco, earthiness and fruittiness with a crisp lingering tobacco finish.

Chocolade bruine kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt zoetig, vanille, moutig, créme. Beetjje herfstfruit. Smaakt zoet, kers, tikkeltje zuur. Zoetig, vanille, alcohol in de afdronk. Best aardig.

I hadn’t had a Belgian in a while it felt like - too much stuff being done here in Richmond alone that I can’t keep up with, much less getting all international. But The Wink had a box set with a fancy glass, so I just decided to go for it. Poured black, slight head, brown at edges. Aroma of chocolate, faint coffee, dark fruit, some Belgian yeast phenols. Flavor matched. Nicely stouty with a Belgian flare. Liked this, the ABV was well hidden.

330 ml bottle poured into a chalice. The beer is a thick black with a khaki head of foam. Good retention. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, molasses, and raspberry jam. The taste is moderately sweet with just a bit of fruity character. thick mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Very good.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Sentrum. Drukket på Lillehøgda 15 Mai 16. Svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som stabiliserer seg lavt. Aroma av svisker. Smaken søt frukt. Plommer. Alkoholen skinner gjennom som et lett mandelpreg. Litt bunnfall.

Bottle at trollekelder Ghent. Black colour, a load of almost mocha foam. Aroma is malty, roasty and a little sour. Chocolate. Complex with the dark malts coming through clearly. Flavour is sour, complex, even vinegar acidity coming through a bit. Malt comes through but doesn’t outweigh the other flavours. Dry finish. Very interesting beer.

Bottle acquired as part of a holiday care package from an aunt. Consumed in a pint glass. Aroma reminds me of alcohol-filled chocolates with sweetness definitely running the show. Black in color with a full figured beige head. Lacing sticks around to see how the sip continues. Taste is very heavy on bitter, dark chocolate initially before softening as more of a milk chocolate stout at the finish. I’m also getting some dark fruit like raisin and a little bit of peat. Hard to miss the alcohol presence too. I think if you like a chocolate-forward stout effort you’ll be satisfied but it’s not really overwhelmingly impressive for me. One bottle was definitely enough.

330 ml bottle. Black body with a big gushing tan head. Mild fruity aroma with coffee and toffee. Flavor has dark malt, mild roast, some fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and OK aftertaste. Quite decent, but feels a bit plain and straight forward.

Bottle at home. Almost black, small tan head. Aroma of roast malt and jam. Quite sweet palate, some balancing bitterness. Fruit tastes, sweet and slightly sticky palate. Some milk chocolate notes. Overall not bad, a little too sweet for me.
