Draught sample at BEERS 2016. Deep red with reddish head. The aroma has notes of cherry, artificial and syrupy. Very sweet flavor with notes of artificial cherry syrup, paint, vinegar and lemon, sour finish. Light to medium-bodied.

Bottle, bought@Bierhut. Pours deep opaque red with a brownish undertone. Fine, staying, beige-pink head. Aroma has lots of cherry, kinda sweet, quite a bit of almonds, softly vinious. Medium, lively carbonation, fine light dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour has good sweet cherries, almonds, soft fruity tartness, sugars, softly warming finish. Actually alright and feels very fresh.

I am a great fan of Verhaeghe’s beers and was excited about tasting this one. The look was great. The smell had a clearly sweet cherry overtone. The conflicting flavors of the sour brown base with sweet cherry did not come together. I experienced a similar problem when making my ginger kriek.

Bottle @ Den Hert, Vichte. Pink red colour, pink foam. Overwelming aroma of cherry candy, sugar and artificial sweeteners. Very very sweet, sugar is burning in your teeth. Not good at all.

Poured a brown color with a white head. The aroma is sweet cherries. The flavor is OMG sweet cherries. There is some caramel in there but mostly OMG cherries. Its not too sour or sweet. Its just wait for it OMG cherries. Kidding aside I love this beer! I dont get the low-ish ratings its about perfect between a fruit beer and an oud bruin.

Black cherry nose, slight vinegar. Maroon, thin tan head with a pink hue. Tangy black cherry, oak, vinous. Medium body, fizzy.

Poured a slightly murky reddish brown, slight head. Aroma is cherry over some sweetish malts. Flavor matches, with a nice interplay of malt sweetness and tart cherry going on. Rather enjoyed this quite a bit more than I had been expecting. Nice.

330 ml bottle poured into a chalice. The beer is a murky red with a think, whisp of a head of pink foam. The aroma has intense cherry, like cherry pie filling. Moderate tartness comes through, but there is also a great deal of sweetness. Medium body and medium to high carbonation. I enjoyed this one a good bit. Would love to have it again.

330ml bottle. Poured a ruby color with a pinkish tinted head. I found this to be overly sweet and artificial. Cough drops or cough syrup. Did not, could not finish the bottle.

Bottle acquired via a Christmas care package of beer from an aunt. Kind of a murky, hazy reddish brown color with initial head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is medicinal cherry and is not doing much to make me excited to drink this one. Almost a rubber cement quality as well. Taste is just...wow...cherry. Strong fake cherry...like what cough drops tasted like when you were a kid before you grew up and realized cough drops didn’t to taste like bad fake cherry. It’s a lot of flavor at the onset but quickly disappears. A very abrupt end. More sweetness than tart. Hard to imagine drinking more than the one bottle in...well, a lifetime. This is not my style but even if it was the score would not be favorable. Avoid.
