Bottle from Geers. Clear red-rust colored pour with thin off white head. Aroma is quite pungent, cherry notes with quite a bit of vinegar, strong woody notes, a bit of carboard/oxidization is also apparent. Taste is sour, fruity with a stron oaky and earthy finish that somewhat overpowers the delicate fruitiness. Palate is med-light bodied with light carbonation. Decent, but a bit off balance.

250 ml bottle as Caves - het Bier van Lier. BB 15/05/2015. From belgianbeerfactory.com.
Clear reddish golden colour with a tiny off-white head. Sweetness, bad strawberries, vomit, caramel malt and mild metal in the aroma. The flavour is sweet berries, strawberries, mild sourness, strawberry jam and mild sugary sweetness. The flavour is surprisingly good. Rich and jammy.

Brandman (2053) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 24, 2014
Clear brown body, small white head. Aroma has caramel, sorbus and acidic metal. Flavour is very odd. Very sweet caramelly beer with sour apples. Bit like ones from grandmas oven, but with vinegar. No metal on taste, which is really great. Long lasting sweet aftertaste. Just great. Very sweet and full palate. Some strawberry jam.

Nice sour ale aroma. Somewhat roasted oaky. Sour flavour. Somewhat sugary. Hints of balsamic vinagar.

ALLOVATE (2333) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2013
Into a Saison tumbler at just on cool. Pour is quite angry and fuelled by surging effervescence that lifts a messy two inches of dirty white foam. Persistent head and frosting. The body of beer a radiant, ruddy chestnut . Very fruity, olfactory tickling bouquet displaying noted of plum juice, French cider vinegar, raspberry khoulis, Fizz-whizz™ sherbet and mulled wine. Tart, tongue twisting acidity grips on first sip. An odd amount of rough, nutty and roasted malts comes through also. Body is quite firm, the mouthfeel softly peppery. Very fruity like the nose with a vinous quality in the finish hinting at Madeira wine. All together this ale is extremely balanced, tasty and quaint. A very approachable brew! Shared a 25cl from La Cave à Bière de St Léo. It pours a clear amber in color with small and persistent whitish head. Aroma is sour and sweet. Sour and sweet aftertaste (although with some metallic notes). Smooth and nice.

Bottle at the Jim=John tasting, Den Haag. Poured a clear chestnut brown colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is sour and rather glue like with a sweet tooth decaying flavour. Truly awful.
