Bottle. Clear brown colour with white head. Too bad that the head didn’t form well, but it still looked good. Smell was oaky, sour and floral. Flavour had dry sourness in it and you could defintely get some oak in there. Nice fresh beer.. good find.

On tap at St Gummarus pub in Lier, Belgium. It poured a clear brown liquid with a white head. Sweet and sour with a malty body. Very nice, reminded me of Rodenbach grand cru and it was my fathers favorite.

Botella. Pours tea colored. Nose of caramel, vinegar, wood, yeast and fermented apples. Taste of grain, old coffee grounds, wet wood, lightly soured apple and vinegar. Yeasty. Odd notes.

[3/3/11] Bottle at Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Clear reddish color with a quickly-diminishing small beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some teriyaki sauce and some oak. Sourish-sweet flavor with some cherries, caramel and some wood. Medium-bodied.

Bottle "caves, het bier van lier" Pours out amber coloured. Medium head, won’t hold long enough. Sour-fruity smell, some wood inside also. Lighlty carbonated, a bit to less, sourness is not to overwhelming, taste lots of fruits and caramel. More sweet then expected. Some cookie-like stuff at the taste. Sour ale isn’t really my stuff, so probably way underrated...

Bottled, 250ml from Marche de Natalie, Bouillon, Belgium. Red amber with off white head. Verhaeghe certainly seem to do sours well, not one of my favourite styles but this is quite drinkable, fruity, sourish cherry note with damsons plus a slight caramel, boiled note, it is smooth and full. Pretty decent.
