| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 6, 2008 The aromas are of sour cherries, ceder, and spices. A hint of sourness at the front, but a good amount of sweetness balances it all out. Lightly carbonated, which is a good thing. Flavors of caramel, allspice, over ripe cherries, bananas, sherry. Very nice. Would make a great dessert wine alternative. carruthm (1121), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 dark red/brown pour with little head. Interesting taste that feels like it starts with a lambic-like sweetness and then shifts gears to a tart sourness. Very enjoyable. thenick (744), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Bomber. Pours a lovely brown color with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma is Belgian funk with grape/wine notes thrown in as well. Flavor was mostly the same, though I also detected some dark fruit (cherry, plum, grape) with a wonderful dry and tart finish. Excellent, excellent sour ale. allfreej (358), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Bottled. Watch the pressure--when I unwired the tin cap and removed it, the cork came out on its own (probably a tad too warm). After the explosion, it poured medium brown, with a nice tan head. Vinous nose, with notes of hoarhound. The flavor was malt, grape, oak, and cherry and had a nice tartness to it as well as a fine dry finish. blipp (1637), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours ruby brown with a beige head. Aroma is tart fruit, rhubarb, apple skin, and apple cider vinegar. Medium body. Flavor is very well balanced. The sour vinegar side is very well complimented by sweet tastes of cherry and pomegranate. Finishes dry and with a hint of oak. Very good. I have a tough time getting around the vinegar, but this is really a very well made beer.
