RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA May 13, 2008 Deep amber in color with an inch-thick tan head. Mild woodsy aroma with some dried fruit character. Flavor is sweet and sour, subtle balance of oak, vanilla, cranberries, sugar and hazelnut frosting. Very, very interesting. Full bodied and complex. Excellent. rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA May 12, 2008 Pours a hazy deep reddish brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of sour fruits....wow lots of sour funk in this one. Flavor is fruit, sweetness that balances out the sour, a little bit of nuttiness. Finishes nice and smooth. I quite enjoyed this style. note666 (282), Eindhoven, Netherlands May 12, 2008 250 ml bottle. nice brown , clear colour.
fruity, sour taste. very pleasant to drink . tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway May 11, 2008 Updated: Aug 27, 200825 cl bottle at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Amber color, nice off-white head. Aroma is dried and sour fruit. Flavor is fruity, sweet, oak, dried fruit. Very nice carbonation. Balanced and quite balanced. tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland May 10, 2008 Draught@Poirotti. Cloudy reddish-brown color, lasting head. Sour, fruity aroma. The taste reminds me of both Finnish sahti-style beer and sweet red wine. The finish is dry and sour. Not a personal favorite. coldbrewky (716), Saugerties, New York, USA May 8, 2008 I am not usually a big fan of sour ales but this one hit the spot. Bottle: Pours a amber brown that les only a bit of light thru. Lacing is sparse but dense when apparent. Carbonation is steady but has separate pillars. Nose is of ripe fruit blended with lemon. Body is elastic and swings from sweet and fruity to decidely tart and sour and then repeats twoce before fading. I didnt catch any oakyness but it may have helped the rounding of body. Glad I picked this one up. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark May 5, 2008 Copper brown with a big pillow of creamy off-white head. Light fruity aroma, some apple peel and som sourness. Sweet with a decent sour finish. It’s good in the candy-like sour category, but I didn’t like that apple thing. josarah (106), Hinesburg, Vermont, USA May 5, 2008 Draft-Great Lost Bear. A little sweet for my palate, but very drinkable. Almost too sweet to be considered sour. Great body and pleasant aroma.
