Verhaeghe Duchesse De Bourgogne

On tap at Town Hall Brewery in Minneapolis. I thought it was great in bottle but on tap...wow. Brownish red pour with a small off white head. Over ripe or sour cherry aroma with something else there as well. The taste is dark fruit with earth and cherry tart as well. This is wonderful.

Draught @ the Dilly Deli. Pours a deep ruby red color with a large frothy off white head. The aroma is vinous in character with cherry also being present. It seems to have an acidic sourness as well. The flavor is sweet fruits like cherry and cranberry. Tart and almost vinegar like quality as well. There is some malt to try and back all this up. Interesting and enjoyable.

A very geographically mountainous head on this pour. Lots of foam. Smells like a holy church. You know that smell? The taste is of soured malt, with a long lasting sour malt aftertaste that is metallic as well and I got this in a bottle. The beer is dark brown, opaque, with red tint. A different experience.

Bottle, aged and thanks to EDA. Light brown pour with some head. Aroma is funky, earthy / sour cherries. The flavor is the same, light sourness, a little vinegar, but also some sweet cherry flavor. Pretty good.

Raspberry brown pour with little bubbles around the ring pretending to be a head. Sweet, with a sour cherry nose and that aroma of turned red wine. Strawberry and cherry sweetness with nice bubbles on the palate. Quick, somewhat drying finish with oaky notes.

11.2 oz. bottle bb. 1/30/09 poured into a snifter has a dark cherry red color with steady slow carbination and a thick frothy one finger light tan head. aroma has tart cherry, light alcohol, plenty of sour funk, and a little wood. mouth feel is light and bubbly with a champagne like quality. flavors start with tart cherry, sweetness, and some nice wood character. has a lot of lambic like qualities but totally different at the same time. warms a bit to reveal more fruit and raisin and finishes so smoothly with a distinct dry taste. leaves my mouth watering for another sip and becomes more complex as it goes down.

11.2 fl oz bottle from KAggie97, best before date 01-02-09. Pour is reddish-brown, clear, with some orange highlights. Nice off-white head. Aroma of sour, tart cherries and some earthy barnyard notes. Taste is initially sweet / tart cherry fruit, but quickly moves into more of an oaky raisin maltiness. Many layers of flavor to this beer, very nice. Medium body, turns a bit watery on the finish. Thanks Kevin!

Tart cherry aroma experienced after the dark red pour. Decent head. Initial taste seems sweet at first, but finishes with a pleasant tartness. Enjoyable
