PHXHOPLOVER (50), LAVEEN, Arizona, USA Oct 14, 2007 Wow, not expecting this sour ale to be so sweet, but not bad for balance. If it wasnt sour, it would be way too sweet. Kind of a desert beer. Good sour belgian ale smells. Tastes of cherries, and fruits, with a hint of caramel and slight roastiness from the dark mal. TomDecapolis (3130), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 13, 2007 On tap at Ortinos Northside. Pours a ruby red/brown with a smaller creamy/bubbly almost pink head. Aroma of red wine, malty sweetness, mixed berries and light oak. Flavor of red wine, mixed berries, oak, malty sweetness. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2007 33cL bottle, from old notes. Deep ruby red color with short lived tan foam, not so good lacing. Lots of oaky sweetness in the aroma, bit too sweet on the flavor end, almost seems like it was artificially sweetened. uoffgator (35), Miami, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2007 This is a good sour ale. Very deep in color creamy head and a unique full flavour. Has a bitterly sweet flavor that is perfect for after dinner or a pre dinner cocktail. Surprisingly light for all its rich tones. DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England Oct 10, 2007 Pours a garnet colour beer. Bold beige head. Soft mouthfeel. Some carbonation. Complex taste with sourness, vinegar, yeast, malt, raisins, dates and spiciness. A real joy to drink. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Oct 9, 2007 Pours red brown with an abscent head. Aroma is sweet sour with hints of malt and balsamico. Flavor is sweet sour and a bit watery in the middle before a mild sourness kicks in. Rather vinous but lacks character. TheQuaffer (14), Epsom, Surrey, England Oct 8, 2007 Bottle from Ghent. Pours a reddish brown colour with a thin head. A fruity & sweet smelling aroma. Has a well balanced sour taste. Give me a Duchesse over a Rody every time! Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England Oct 7, 2007 Cask @ Lowlander, London. Pours murky reddish brown. Very thin head. Aroma is dark fruits / raisins & cherry. Taste is sour fruits and malts. Interesting and a little different.
