andrewtroth (25), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Oct 1, 2007 A strikingly deep, dark red in appearance, with a persistent but light and frothy head. Sweet but not cloying, with just the right note of sourness. An excellent brew to savor. ElGaucho56 (386), USA Sep 30, 2007 Draft @ BSP. Pours a deep garnet red with lingering lacing thin head. nose of sour cherries, oakiness, smoke, some dry malts, palate extremely well balanced between flemish sourness and woody malt sweetness. Probably the most tasteful flemish sour I’ve tried, way less acetic than others. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2007 Dark pour with a small short lived head. Vert sweet and complex, with nut flavors as well as some oak, but a nice sour finish. Great, def worth haveing again and again. One of my favs dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 29, 2007 Updated: Apr 24, 2008RERATE: After trying this for a second time, I have confirmed that my first attempt was in fact a skunky bottle. That said, this is my first flemish sour, quite an experience! Nose is loads of sweet cherry, sweet apple and almonds. Moderate carbonation, lots of intriguing sweet malt and sour mash, almost strikes me as a very concentrated cider. Ever so slightly syrup character leaves a lingering nutty finish much like a good sherry, where the sour really shines. The finish really is the best part, it lasts for minutes and invites the next sip. An excellent beer. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 26, 2007 Aroma is a bold sweet scent that is almost like a red wine. Color is a deep maroon with very goes carbonation a a thick tight head. Taste is rich and sweet. Starting with a full/medium body it goes down easy with a light sweet feel. Finish comes in sweet and rich with a slightly sour wine like taste that dissipates quickly leaving you clean. This is one of the most unique and interesting beer I have ever had. Its just wonderful, its sour yet sweet and rich yet light. I have never had anything like it. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Sep 26, 2007 Updated: Jan 25, 2008Great sour flavors are amazing. Some fruit on aroma ans well as tartness. Fruity malt sweetness taste with some figs and dates and raisins. Nice body. Could be great with dessert or after dinner. Flemish sour not so much but has a sour oak taste to me. Chocolate covered strawberries or a pear and provolone salad sounds like a great pairing. jarspag (593), Los Angeles, California, USA Sep 25, 2007 A nice flemish to begin with, in my opinion. Subtle, mild, and very drinkable - gulpable even. Aroma crosses vanilla, oak, cherries and the funk. Taste is similar to a caramel sour apple - nice all around...but sometimes shows a slight resemblance of soda pop. I like it though...nice balanced and complex brew. Wish it was bigger... BelgiskOlklub (397), Viby J, Denmark Sep 25, 2007 25 cl. bottle. One of my favourites. A great sweet and sour beer in good balance. Has a touch of oak barrels in the finish.
